The main press 2CD is the supreme stereo sound board album where you can enjoy the full show of “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour”, which is known as the unexplored region of the sound source. It is an absolute board that permanently preserves the highest peak update sound that has exceeded the official. As I mentioned in the commentary, this show has been used as a video work in the first place. Therefore, a DVD that reproduces the Omoto official video from the highest peak master is decided to come with a special bonus!
That’s why what is recorded in this work is the same “ROCK ON THE TYNE FESTIVAL performance on July 31, 1982” as the main press 2CD. That multi-camera pro shot. This festival was broadcast on TV at that time, but the version of THE POLICE, which served as a big bird, was officially announced in 1996. In 2001, it was made into a DVD only in Japan. Of course, it was out of print long ago, but this work is the highest peak version reproduced from the best master.
The quality is (naturally) completely official grade. Although it is an analog shooting of the era, the stereo feeling is weaker than the main press 2CD, and the mix is a little rough. However, its freshness is the master quality because it is official, and the stage 40 years ago is revived with zero deterioration. Furthermore, the taste unique to the video is Japanese subtitles. As expected, there is no translation of the lyrics, but MC is completely translated into Japanese. Sting’s bloody words and humor can be vividly understood.
The “GHOST IN THE MACHINE Tour” drawn with such visual beauty is incredible. The set is the same as the main press 2CD, so I will omit it, but the persuasive power is tremendous because I see it with my eyes. Sting, who has just become thirty, has a sharp singing voice and sharp steps, and the imposing presence of THE POLICE, who acts as a festival bird, is also wonderful. The horn section also feels even more gorgeous when viewed with a multi-camera that features up to the zoom of each person.
Furthermore, the mood of the stage is fantastic. Due to the high latitudes of England, the sun is high until late in the summer, and the sunset time on this day is past 21:00. Therefore, it’s finally dusk after becoming THE POLICE of the big bird, and the darkness gets deeper and deeper from there, one song at a time. At first, the natural sunlight made it possible to see from corner to corner of the stage, but the presence of the lighting gradually increased, and it was replaced by the colorful light show that was visible. You can witness it.
