Above, all 6 performances. The next day, when I came back to Japan in 1981, the Nippon Budokan was already reserved, but when I first came to Japan, it was still a hall class. It has been held for two nights in a row in Nakano, and this work was recorded on the second day.
This show was broadcast on the radio, and its FM sound board is a big standard that has produced a number of existing groups. THE POLICE has reigned as a symbol of the first visit to Japan. However, it is also a classic fate that the quality varies depending on the master. In some cases, it had a mokomoko sound, and there was a single piece that was cut significantly. Although this work is the same FM sound board, it sounds better than the existing group, and it is a complete version without cuts (although there are some that are longer than this work due to the pitch being out of order). In our recent shop, under the supervision of overseas THE POLICE researchers, we have archived successive sound board albums with the highest update quality, but this work is the best master of new excavation that will be the latest bullet. ..
In fact, its quality has reached a record high. The broadcast itself has been uploaded to a major video site, but the quality difference is not comparable. It is not clear whether it is the reception status or the master freshness, but on the video site, the separation from Mokomoko is bad, and only the peak stands out as to whether I tried to improve it. As a result, I was in a state of “just listening” just because it hurt my ears. However, this work is completely different. No dubbing marks can be seen in the freshness, and it is beautifully separated from deep bass to treble. The stereo feeling that even the small percussion and synth phrases are sharply panned is also great. It’s hard to call a vivid mix “completely official grade!” If it’s a severe modern sensation, but if it’s a sensation at that time, I can say it with all my might. Moreover, its freshness is just a level of individuality and is not a drawback.
The highest peak update sound is drawn by the legendary full show of Japanese Western music history. Speaking of the “REGGATTA DE BLANC Tour” sound board, “PALLADIUM 1979 (Wardour-524)”, which was released the other day and received rave reviews, is also new to my memory, but this work is even longer. …… And it looks like this. Only one song “No Time This Time” is marked with “★”, but this is actually a terrible treasure all over the world. Not only is this song unprecedented in Sting’s solo, but he has played only one of the best in THE POLICE. Most of them are the first visits to Japan, and collectors all over the world equate them with the first visits to Japan. You can listen to such extremely rare songs on the finest stereo sound board. It’s a treasure.
Of course, this work is not just one song. そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1980年２月15日：中野サンプラザ」公演。そのステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。まずは日本洋楽史の記念碑でもある初来日スケジュールを紐解き、ショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

以上、全６公演。翌1981年の再来日では早くも日本武道館が指定席となったわけですが、初来日ではまだホール・クラス。中野では二夜連続で行われており、本作が記録されたのは２日目でした。
このショウはラジオ放送され、そのFMサウンドボードは数々の既発群を生み出して来た大定番。THE POLICE初来日の象徴として君臨してきました。ただし、マスターによってクオリティがまちまちなのも定番の宿命。中にはモコモコのサウンドだったり、大幅にカットされた１枚物が出回ることもありました。本作も同じFMサウンドボードではあるものの、既発群よりも音が良く、カットのない完全版（ピッチが狂っているせいで本作より長くなってる物もありますが）。最近の当店では、海外のTHE POLICE研究家の監修を受けて歴代サウンドボード・アルバムを最高峰更新クオリティでアーカイヴしておりますが、本作はその最新弾となる新発掘のベスト・マスターなのです。
実際、そのクオリティは過去最高を更新している。放送自体は某大手動画サイトにもアップされていますが、クオリティ差は比較にもならない。受信状況かマスター鮮度かは判然としませんが、動画サイトではモコモコと分離が悪く、それを何とか改善しようとしたのかピークだけが突出。結果としてパンパンと耳に痛いだけで「聴けるだけマシ」な状態になっていました。しかし、本作はまったく違う。瑞々しい鮮度にはダビング痕がまるで見られず、重低音から高音まで美しくセパレート。ささやかなパーカッションやシンセ・フレーズまでキレにパンするステレオ感も絶大です。生々しいミックスはシビアな現代感覚だと「完全オフィシャル級！」と呼ぶのに迷いますが、当時感覚なら全力で言える。しかも、その生々しさもあくまで個性のレベルであって欠点ではありません。
