In commemoration of the release of the sound source including the phantom repertoire “Love Like A Bomb” on the 2005 “DON’T BELIEVE THE TRUTH” tour, a rare video of the 2005 tour including the same song on this week’s free gift item Will be introduced.
Of course, “Love Like” was performed only on the US tour in June. One of the highlights was the first performance at Madison Square Garden at Oasis. It is undeniable that it has been forgotten now, but at that time it was widely reported in the United States that “Oasis sold out the first MSG!”.
Of course, there was an audience recording on that day, and in fact, it was also listed as a candidate for the first delivery gift of “MANSFIELD 2005”. However, the sound quality was not good, and Detroit, which was excellent in quality, was adopted as a gift. Rather, for the 2005 MSG, the easy-to-see audience shot footage is much more enjoyable, so I chose it for this week’s gift.

Moreover, this video is edited by combining multiple angles that began to emerge from that time, and the point is that it is easy to see until the end, unlike the monotonous audience shot of only one angle. However, the main angle was taken from the MSG stand seat, and the second shot taken from the front only occasionally appears during the main part of the live performance. On the contrary, in “Live Forever”, the sound skipping was caused by the editing mistake of two angles.
Fortunately, however, the biggest feature, “Love Like A Bomb,” includes plenty of second shots, and Liam, the author of the song, sings from a good angle. I wonder if this alone is enough to look good.
The second shot was featured extensively from Angkor, for example, Andy Bell, who decides the bass solo in the finale “My Generation”, is an excellent one.

2005年「DON’T BELIEVE THE TRUTH」ツアーで幻のレパートリー「Love Like A Bomb」を含んだ音源のリリースを記念し、今週の無料ギフト・アイテムにも同曲を含んだ2005年ツアーのレア映像を投入いたします。
もちろん「Love Like～」が演奏されたのは6月のアメリカ・ツアーだけ。その中でもハイライトとなったのがオアシス初のマディソン・スクエア・ガーデンでの公演。今では忘れ去られた感が否めませんが、当時はアメリカ国内でも「オアシスが初のMSGをソールドアウトさせた！」と大々的に報じられていたもの。
もちろんこの日はオーディエンス録音が存在していて、実は「MANSFIELD 2005」の初回納品分ギフトの候補にも挙がっています。ところが音質が今一つで、結局クオリティ的に秀でていたデトロイトがギフトに採用されたのでした。むしろ2005年のMSGに関しては見やすいアングルのオーディエンスショット映像の方がはるかに楽しめるということから、今週のギフトに採用した次第です。

しかもこの映像、当時から台頭し始めた複数のアングルを組み合わせた編集となっていて、ワンアングルだけの単調なオーディエンスショットと違って最後まで見やすいのがポイント。とはいってもメインのアングルはMSGのスタンド席から撮影されたもので、正面から撮られたセカンド・ショットはライブ本編の間はたまに現れる程度。それどころか「Live Forever」で二つのアングルの編集ミスから音飛びが生じてしまったのが玉に瑕。
しかし幸いなことに、最大の目玉である「Love Like A Bomb」ではセカンド・ショットもふんだんに盛り込まれていて、同曲の作者でもあるリアムが歌い上げる様がいいアングルで捉えられているのです。もう、ここだけでも見ごたえは十分かと。
そんなセカンド・ショットに関してはアンコールから大々的にフィーチャーされ、例えばフィナーレの「My Generation」でベース・ソロを決めるアンディ・ベルの姿がしっかり捉えられた優れもの。
