The countdown has been counted down to the release of the OASIS documentary film “SUPERSONIC”. I’m really looking forward to it, but the best multi-camera pro shot that will make you feel even hotter is the gift release decision.
This work was shot at “August 19, 2016 Hasselt performance”. It is a pattern when he appeared at the Belgian music festival “PUKKELPOP 2016”. This festival has been going on since the 1980s, and 2016 is a huge event with 265 artists appearing in 4 days. NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS appeared in 6th place (out of 8 groups) on the main stage on the 3rd day. Currently, “CHASING YESTERDAY TOUR” has already ended, but it is also the final edition (9th performance from the end). This work is a direct DVD version of the video delivered on the day.
The quality is the finest that shows the power of the latest digital distribution. Not to mention the super vivid visual beauty, the camera work is also an iron-walled multi-camera. It goes without saying that most of them capture the appearance of Noel Gallagher, and the quality is perfect, from the highlights of each member to the distant view that depicts the spectacle of a super-giant festival. And I would like to say that the sound is also an official grade with no questions asked, but this distribution had only one drawback. Actually, at the beginning, “Everybody’s on the Run”, there is a slight noise of “Gigi …” on the phone. Of course, the noise disappears in a few seconds, after which you can listen to the full set with the highest quality. However, it is perfect except for the slight noise of a few seconds. The sight of the latest “CHASING YESTERDAY TOUR” drawn with that quality is exquisite. It’s a pity that it’s a short set for festivals, but this time too, 6 out of 10 songs will be shown from “CHASING YESTERDAY”, which won the 1st place in the UK (leading over the remastered version of “PHYSICAL GRAFFITI” by LED ZEPPELIN). .. The debut works “Everybody’s on the Run” and “AKA … What a Life!” Are sandwiched between them, and four major songs from OASIS are also interwoven. Although it is biased toward the latest work and the super-masterpiece “(WHAT’S THE STORY) MORNING GLORY?”, That is why the show is dazzling in its ongoing form.
Of course, 12 songs and about 58 minutes are not enough to fill you up, but (although it is a movie), it is a piece that directly conveys the breath of Noel who lives in the “now” that OASIS will be in the spotlight again. OASISのドキュメンタリー映画『SUPERSONIC』のリリースまでカウントダウンとなりました。なんとも楽しみなところですが、そんな気持ちをさらに熱くする極上マルチカメラ・プロショットがギフト・リリース決定です。
本作が撮影されたのは「2016年８月19日ハッセルト公演」。ベルギーの音楽フェス“PUKKELPOP 2016”に出演した際の模様です。このフェスは80年代から続いており、2016年は４日間で265組ものアーティストが出演するという超巨大イベント。NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDSは、３日目メインステージの６番手（８組中）で出演しました。現在、“CHASING YESTERDAY TOUR”はすでに終了していますが、その最終盤（最後から９公演目）でもあります。本作は、当日配信された映像をダイレクトにDVD化した１枚なのです。
そのクオリティは、最新デジタル配信の威力を見せつける極上品。超ビビッドな映像美はもちろんのこと、カメラワークも鉄壁のマルチカメラ。そのほとんどがノエル・ギャラガーの姿を捉えているのは当然として、各メンバーの見どころや超・巨大フェスのスペクタクルを描く遠景までパーフェクトなクオリティです。そして、サウンドも問答無用のオフィシャル級……と言いたいところですが、この配信には１つだけ欠点もありました。実は冒頭「Everybody’s on the Run」で、ホンのわずかに「ジジ……」というノイズが入ってしまうのです。もちろん、ノイズは数秒で消え、その後は極上クオリティのままフルセットを聴かせてくれる。実のところ、当初は「プレスしようか」とも考えたのですが、最新プロショットは完全無欠でなくてはならない。たとえ数秒、極わずかなノイズであっても、欠点があれば永久保存盤には出来ない……ということでギフト・リリースと相成りました。
とは言え、その数秒の微かなノイズ以外はパーフェクト。そのクオリティで描かれる最新“CHASING YESTERDAY TOUR”の光景は絶品です。フェス用の短いセットなのは残念ですが、今回も全英１位（LED ZEPPELINの『PHYSICAL GRAFFITI』リマスター盤を抑えての首位）に輝いた『CHASING YESTERDAY』からは全10曲中６曲を披露。そこにデビュー作の「Everybody’s on the Run」や「AKA… What a Life!」を挟み込み、さらにOASISからも大代表曲４曲を織り交ぜています。最新作と超名盤『(WHAT’S THE STORY) MORNING GLORY?』に偏ってはいますが、だからこそ現在進行形な姿が眩しいショウなのです。
もちろん、12曲・約58分でお腹いっぱいになるわけではありませんが、（映画とは言え）再びOASISにスポットライトが当たろうという“今”に生きるノエルの息づかいがダイレクトに伝わる１枚です。映画『SUPERSONIC』が過去を映しだしているからこそ、同時に噛みしめたい“今”のノエル。その極上マルチカメラ・プロショット。今週末、あなたのお手元にお届けいたします。
