M.C. Hammer, a man who descended to the earth with Tetris and swept the era when he was excited about “Back to the Future PART3”. Introducing the finest images that symbolize the golden age of the fiercely burning moment.
It was here in Japan that this work was shot. This is a multi-camera pro shot of “March 26/27, 1991: Tokyo Dome Performance”. He has visited Japan three times in his long career. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s look back at the panoramic view and check the position of the show.
● 1991
・ March 26 + 27: Tokyo Dome ← ★ This work ★
・ March 30: Osaka Castle Hall
● 1992
・ November 16: Tokyo Dome
● 2000
・ August 4: Tokyo Bay NK Hall
The above 5 performances. When I first came to Japan, I suddenly showed a fierce start dash on the ultimate big stage called Tokyo Dome, but what is recorded in this work is that Tokyo Dome. It is a special program compiled from the two consecutive performances.
The quality is exactly “completely official grade”. At our shop, we are the best master of recording enthusiasts and archive many music programs, but this work is the latest bullet and reigns at the highest peak. It’s an analog broadcast / recording of the times, but it’s so beautiful that you can forget that fact. There is no deterioration over time on the glossy screen where no white line noise is found, and there are no tape twists or dubbing marks. Despite the zero digital processing, the vivid color and the clear details of even one lame that shines in the sarouel pants are overwhelming because it is unprocessed. That is the beauty of the image that makes me think, “Did you come out with an official laser disc?”
M.C. Hammer, who was extremely climax as a darling of the times, is drawn with such transcendental visual beauty. Anyway, the stage is super flashy. Countless dancers appeared on the stage in groups, and each one was crazy with Dabodabo’s Saruel pants and gold glitter. The intense and aggressive dance is not the ratio of Mikel Jackson and Madonna, but rather a disco rather than a music concert … no, it’s a huge exercise stage.
On the other hand, the momentum of M.C. Hammer oozes out between songs. Not to mention Michael Jackson and U2, the music industry, which became huge in the 1980s, took on social responsibility, and Hummer who was trying to climb to the top was no exception. .. Introducing the songs, talking about world peace and feelings for children, and calling for love and solidarity. The point here is the Japanese telop. Hummer’s MC is a little long, but this work has Japanese subtitles in the story, so you can understand the content intuitively. There is also a mini-comte with dancers, but it seems that they are particular about changing the color of the subtitle telop so that they can understand who the words are.
Even more delicious is the CM group that is inserted in 4 places. First of all, the commercials of Pepsi and Toshiba starring Hummer are the most attractive. In particular, Pepsi is a legendary commercial that is replaced with Coca-Cola and is depressed. Even in the narration, “M.C. Hammer is always Pepsi. If you replace it with Coca-Cola …”, the name of the other company is given as much as possible, and there is no blurring in the product. A few months later, Coca-Cola complained and said, “Humor for a dry heart. Pepsi Cola for a dry throat.” But here it was still the outpost.
Furthermore, it is delicious except for Hummer. If you miss the narration of “This program will be provided by …”, the production of echoing the concert venue style is also old-fashioned. In the actual commercial, Mr. Furuhata Ninzaburo, who died last year while being missed, advertised a monochrome image on TV, and Seven Star was also proudly touted on the ground (only 240 yen per box !!). The BGM of such a commercial came to Stevie B with Lalah Hathaway … Indeed, Japan in the bubble era, which was on the verge of being lost, overflows from the screen and speakers.
It was a darling of the times and a flower. It is a video masterpiece filled with the charm of M.C. Hammer, who swept the era with the tremendous momentum of the Frill-necked lizard class. The golden age was short, but because it was short, I was struck by the fierce “1991” feeling. At our shop, we have introduced a number of masterpieces that will be the time capsules of Western music history, but have you ever seen a work in which the “era” has come to the forefront? A piece that is nothing but a cultural heritage. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content with the superb quality master.
★ Multi-camera pro shot of “March 26/27, 1991: Tokyo Dome performance”. It was a live special program broadcast at that time, and the finest master by a recording enthusiast was “completely official class” visual beauty. The show, featuring a horde of big-bika dancers in dubbed sarouel pants and gold glitter, is gorgeous, and the intense and aggressive dance has become a huge exercise stage. It is one of the cultural heritage that you can enjoy the golden age of the moment with superb quality, including the legendary CM that makes Coca-Cola moss by name.
