Glenn Hughes “CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE”, which has revived the masterpieces of the 3rd and 4th period DEEP PURPLE and has been very popular. The latest and finest video is the gift release decision.

Voice enhances the feeling of the site. It jumps straight in with zero obstruction suitable for the scene, and there is no reaction at the venue only at the outdoor festival. You can thoroughly experience the strong playing sound and the relaxed singing voice down to the subtleties. On top of that, the enthusiasm of the site is also wonderful. Although it’s not just the DEEP PURPLE fans who go crazy with the fuss, the mood that surprises the intro of each song is really real, and a big singalong also occurs in “Mistreated” and so on. Immerse yourself in the thick performance that suppresses it, and stand in the midst of such enthusiasm. It’s easy to see and listen to, and it’s rare to see a video that gives you a sense of realism and experience.

Naturally, Glenn sings while playing the bass, but in this song, he leaves the bass to Rodi and concentrates on the song. The appearance is cool! The stage was moved to the right and left with a handheld microphone in one hand, and the performance like a frontman was fresh. What’s more, it’s like a young Ian Gillan, with a denim vest and sunglasses.
Incidents also occur at that “Highway Star”. The staff immediately asked me, “What are you recording?”, And the photographer quickly moved to the edge of the venue. The lens is aimed at the stage as much as possible, but the hand is reflected to hide the camera. In “Burn”, we will return to the superb view position again, but the sense of urgency that makes us surprised is real.
The highlight “Burn” was greeted in that way. Glenn with the bass again is cool, but here the guitar Soren Andersen is also interesting. Until then, Ritchie was reproduced with tones and phrases, but here, the action is repeated only for the highlights! I think he is conscious of the legendary Calijam, but it is also funny that it looks strangely like Yngwie.

【絶品の体験感100％映像】
そんなショウを収めた本作のクオリティは、素晴らしい光景と体験感が絶品のオーディエンス・ショット。現場の“SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL”は、ヨーロッパらしい野外フェスなのでスタンド席などはなく、ステージ正面の間近ポジションからやや見上げるタイプのアングルです。通常、こうしたポジションだと前列の振り上げる腕が邪魔になったり、熱狂にまみれてブレブレになることも多いのですが、本作にその心配はなし。画面下段に腕が映り込むことはあるものの、視点が観客の頭上よりも高く、広々としたステージを真っ直ぐ直視できる。実のところ、果敢なズームなどはほとんどなく、カメラワークは淡泊でもあるのですが、その代わりに安定感はバツグン。三脚などは使っていないにも関わらず、じっくりとステージの端から端まで堪能できる。最近多い編集映像でもなく、まさに現場に立ち、ステージを見つめる感覚をたっぷりと味わえるタイプの映像なのです。
その現場感をさらに高めてくれるのが音声。光景に相応しく遮蔽物ゼロで真っ直ぐに飛び込み、野外フェスだけに会場の反響もゼロ。逞しい演奏音と伸びやかな歌声が機微に至るまでじっくりと体感できるのです。その上で現場の熱狂も素晴らしい。DEEP PURPLEファンだけに大騒ぎで狂うわけではないものの、各曲のイントロに驚喜するムードは実にリアルで、「Mistreated」等では盛大なシンガロングも起こる。それを制圧する極太の演奏に浸りつつ、そんな熱狂のただ中にも立てる。見やすさ、聴きやすさが微塵も揺るがず、ここまで生々しい臨場感・体験感を味わわせてくれる映像も珍しい……。

【素晴らしすぎる“CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE”】
そして、絶品の体験感で味わえるのが往年のDEEP PURPLEナンバー。フェス出演だけにショート・セットなのは残念なものの、その分一層濃密な70年代感覚が素晴らしく、開演から終演まで緊張感が緩まない。ギターはリッチーのトーンを再現し、キーボードはハモンド・サウンドで唸りに唸る。そして、御大グレンは66歳とは思えないシャウトを轟かす……。実のところ、厳密にはパワーがやや落ちていると感じなくもないですが、グレンに限ってはそれくらいで丁度いい（苦笑）。アンサンブルから突き抜けるようなあの奇声感がなく、ちゃんとアンサンブルとして整ったレベルの絶唱がえらく格好いいのです。
そんな素晴らしき“CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE”のステージは南米でも味わえましたが、本作だけのシーンも見逃せない。まずは「Highway Star」。当然のことながらグレンはベースを弾きながら歌っているのですが、この曲ではベースをローディに任せ、歌に専念。その姿が格好いい！　ハンドマイクを片手にステージを右へ左へと移動し、フロントマン然としたパフォーマンスが新鮮。しかも、デニムのベストにサングラスという出で立ちでもあり、まるで若きイアン・ギランです。
その「Highway Star」では事件も起こる。スタッフに見つかったのか、「なに録ってるんだ？」とでも言われたような声が入り、撮影者はそそくさと会場の端まで移動していくのです。レンズは可能な限りステージへ向けられはするものの、カメラを隠すよう手も映り込む。「Burn」では再び絶景ポジションへ戻っていきますが、思わずドキッとするような緊迫感がリアルなのです。
そうして迎えるハイライトの「Burn」。再びベースを持ったグレンも格好いいですが、ここではギターのソレン・アンダーセンも面白い。それまでトーンやフレーズでリッチーを再現していましたが、ここではハイライトだけにアクションも連発しての熱演！　恐らく本人は伝説のカリジャムを意識していると思うのですが、それが妙にイングヴェイっぽく見えてしまうのも微笑ましいのです。

遂に主戦場ヨーロッパへ上陸した“CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE”。ネームヴァリューでは他のファミリー達に譲るものの、その現役感と濃厚な70年代スピリットは唯一無二。そんなショウを2018年クオリティで体験できる極上映像です。何としてもこのプロジェクトで来日をお願いしたい。その願いが渇望へ変わる逸品。ぜひ、この機会にお試しください。
