This DVDR is a complete recording of the Nippon Budokan performance on December 6, 2006 with good audience shots. 2006年12月6日の日本武道館公演を良好なオーディエンスショットで完全収録したDVDRです。2006年と言えば、サポートギタリストにドイル・ブラムホール二世とデレク・トラックスを擁し、リズムセクションにウィリー・ウィークスとスティーヴ・ジョーダンを起用した、これまでのバックバンドで最強との評価を得たツアーでした。そして12月6日と言えば、初日の大阪公演からかなり変化してきたセットリストにおいて、ジミ・ヘンナンバーLittle WingとFurther On Up The Roadが初めて演奏された日でした。アングルは、武道館１階スタンド前列から、前方にまったく障害物のない状態でシューティングされており、オープニングナンバーの序盤のみ、アングル決めのセッティングのため若干のもたつきがありますが、その後は驚くほどのアップショットを交えての素晴らしい映像でステージを捉えきっています。最大のアップショットは、スクリーンショットのような、クラプトンのギターのドアップです。そこに時折引きのステージ全景ショットやソロフィーチャーされる各メンバーのアップショットなどで変化をつけながら巧みに構成しており、まったく飽きさせません。鮮明さにかけても素晴らしいもので、音声はステレオと、申し分のない映像と言うことができます。感動のLittle Wingのエンディングでは、ジョーダンが次曲のためにチューニングの違うスネアドラムをすばやく入れ替えるシーンも鮮明に観ることができます。こうした計算された細かなシーンの一つ一つも非常によく捉えられています。また、Further On Up The Roadはグルーヴ感を強調したシャッフル調のアレンジで演奏されたのも聴きものとなっています。近年の「枯れた」クラプトンのステージと比べると、若手ギタリストとベテランリズムセクションに囲まれて、頭からノリノリの躍動するクラプトンがご覧いただけるもので、この頃はまだツアーからの引退などという思いはまったくなかったのでしょう。とにかくパワフルに弾き捲り、歌い捲るクラプトンの想い出のステージとして、是非記憶に留めておいていただきたいものです。極上内容を誇る、オリジナル・メニュー付き必携盤！！
