From the beginning, there have been 4 consecutive performances at Nippon Budokan, and many live albums have been recorded there. Although the recording date of “JAPAN TOUR 1986” is unknown, it is said that it is the first day or the third day in terms of content. Meanwhile, only this work is more than a week away. It was the last day I returned to Tokyo after the local performance.
This show is also famous for being broadcast on TV, and has become a symbol of “1986 Cindy” for us Japanese. 以上、全９公演。東名阪＋静岡の名会場を巡りつつ、半分以上が日本武道館という特異なスケジュールでもありました。冒頭から日本武道館４連続公演で、数々のライヴアルバムはそこで録音されたものばかり。『JAPAN TOUR 1986』だけは録音日が不明なものの、内容的に初日か３日目ではないかと言われています。そんな中で、本作だけは一週間以上離れている。地方公演を終えて東京に戻ってきた最終日でした。
このショウはTV放送されたことでも有名で、私たち日本人にとっては「1986年のシンディ」の象徴ともなってきました。長年の大定番だけにビデオ時代からさまざまなジェネの既発群を生み出してきましたが、本作はその最高峰マスター。とにかく美麗でして、ダビング痕の見当たらないマスター鮮度が眩しく、発色もディテールも超鮮明なのです。もちろん、時代柄アナログ撮影の質感もあるわけですが、デジタル全盛の現代の眼にも「完全オフィシャル級」と呼びたい……と言いますか、下手をすると『TRUE COLORS』時代の公式作『IN PARIS』よりもビビッドでフレッシュ。「あれ？　公式DVDで出てたっけ？」と思うほどなのです。
