1964年8月初の本格的な北米ツアーをスタートさせたビートルズ。同年初頭にはエド・サリバン・ショウに出演し、ワシントンはじめとするお披露目公演、その後初主演映画『ア・ハード・デイズ・ナイト』も公開されて、まさに人気絶頂を迎えて行われた1964年夏の北米横断ツアー。
このツアー序盤に訪れた8月22日カナダ・ヴァンクーバー公演をステレオ・リミックス・サウンドボード音源と当時のラジオ放送オリジナル・モノラル音源で収録。翌年行われたあのシェア・スタジアム公演に先駆け2万人以上収容の野外スタジアムで初めて行われたこの日の公演は観客がステージに殺到し、あまりの混乱ぶりに二度も演奏を中断する事態となった伝説のライブ。
