正式にはアルバム・タイトルではなく、あえて”ザ・ビートルズ”として発表され、ジャケットから通称”ホワイト・アルバム”となった2枚組のオリジナル・アルバムは当初、『ア・ドールズ・ハウス』のワーキング・タイトルで進行していたものの、同時期の他バンドによる同名タイトルとの重複を避け変更されました。この原題『ア・ドールズ・ハウス』を冠したブートレッグはアナログ時代からリリースされていますが、内容的にはエッシャー・デモをはじめ、今となっては公式化されたものがほとんどで未発表音源集ではなくなりました。今回はそうしたかつての内容のままの復刻ではなく、2018年に50周年を迎え公式リリースされた『ホワイト・アルバム”スーパー・デラックス・エディション』では、それまでブート定番であったアコースティックのエッシャー・デモをはじめ、初登場のセッション音源が多数収録されましたが、未収録となった未発表レア音源もあります。ここではその未収録となったテイク違いやミックス違いがまとめて収録されています。マルチトラック・リミックス音源やこれまでモノ・ミックスしかなかった音源のステレオ化を含め2023年版編集リマスター・エディションとなっています。
