The “Minus One” sound source collection, which has been known for many years among enthusiast Beatles collectors, has added new content and is newly released as a newly remastered expanded edition. The Beatles’ “Minus One” sound source, which has been produced overseas since 2015, has attracted attention with its unique remix of vocals and some of each instrument being “minus” as the title suggests. The lead vocals of the double track, which is often heard in ordinary stereo mixes and monaural, have become direct and raw vocals of the single track without overdubbing, and some of the guitar, piano and other instruments have been erased. A unique remix that is different from the usual one has been released by professional-level instrument analysis, such as the elimination of overdubbed chorus and backing. In this second volume, not only the songs that were not recorded last time, but also the songs that were recorded in the first volume, an alternate mix with different vocal lines and different minus tracks is recorded.
In addition, 30 songs newly selected and recorded this time are additionally recorded in DISC2. “Please Please Me” without harmonica and “Long Tall Sally” without piano “Yesterday” is a mix of vocals and guitar without string quartet, “Helter Skelter” vocal track only, two “Let It Be”, which is a clever blend of mixes, is an interesting remix that makes the difference as enthusiasts who have listened to the Beatles in detail. This is the second sequel to the sound source collection that the Beatles collectors around the world have been paying attention to.

マニアックなビートルズ・コレクターの間では長年知られた”マイナス・ワン”音源コレクションが新たな内容を追加し、新規リマスターされたエクスパンデッド・エディションとして新たに登場。2015年から海外製作されてきたザ・ビートルズの”マイナス・ワン”音源はそのタイトル通りボーカルや各楽器の一部が”マイナス”された独自のリミックスで注目を集めてきました。通常のステレオ・ミックスやモノラルでよく聞かれるダブル・トラックのリード・ボーカルがオーバーダブされていないシングル・トラックのダイレクトで生々しいボーカルとなっていたり、ギターやピアノその他の楽器の一部が消されていたり、オーバーダブされたコーラスやバッキングが排除されたりとプロ・レベルの音源解析によって通常とは異なる独自のリミックスが公開されてきました。この第2弾では前回未収録曲はもちろん第1弾収録曲でもボーカル・ラインが違っていたりマイナス・トラックが変わっていたりするオルタネイト・ミックスを収録。
さらにDISC2では今回新たにセレクト収録された30曲が追加収録。「プリーズ・プリーズ・ミー」のハーモニカなしや「ロング・トール・サリー」のピアノなし「イエスタデイ」では弦楽四重奏のないボーカルとギターだけのミックス、「ヘルター・スケルター」のボーカル・トラック・オンリー、2つのミックスが巧妙にブレンドされた「レット・イット・ビー」等、いずれもこれまでビートルズを細部まで聞き込んできたマニア程その違いが判る興味深いリミックスといえます。世界中のビートルズ・コレクターが注目してきた音源コレクション続編第2弾です。
