“October 13, 2022: Osaka Performance (Early Show)” is imbued in this work. It is the best audience recording. Di Meola was also forced to suspend tours due to the pandemic, but resumed activities quickly due to the simple band composition. Traveling the world energetically. This is Al di Meola in 2022. In 2020, when the pandemic broke out, we could hardly perform live, but in 2021, we resumed the tour with the number of performances approaching the average year. With that momentum, this year (2022) will be a big explosion. In the case of Di Meola, it’s hard to say that the past data is complete, so I can’t say for sure, but I think it’s a career high. Among them, in October, the Pacific Rim circuit will be “Hawaii → Japan → South Korea → Australia”. In Japan, they toured for 4 days, “Tokyo x 2 + Yokohama + Osaka”, with 2 performances per day. A total of 8 performances were held. What is recorded in this work is “Osaka’s 1st show”.
This work, which vacuum-packed such a scene, is an original master by Mr. “West Japan’s Strongest Taper”, who is familiar with our shop, and it is truly a superb audience recording. The thick core reaches your ears without a sense of distance, and the details are super vivid. Compared to the usual “strongest” Mr. recording, it is easier to feel the hall noise component, but this is probably intentional. Of course, since it is the “strongest” collection, there is plenty of sound board-like closeness, but the taste this time is “a closed room feeling of a small box”. The site is a venue for about 300 people, and the acoustics are also very good. It is much more familiar than the hall, but the sound is more elegant than the club, and it is wonderfully recorded.
In fact, I am at a loss for words for its beauty. Last time (2020) was an ensemble with melody instruments such as piano and accordion, but this time it is a trio formation with Amit Kavushikar (tabla) / Richie Morales (percussion). The guitar, which dances between various and colorful percussion instruments with many gaps, never mixes even if it is complicatedly intertwined. Each sound stands out beautifully, and even though it is close, it makes you feel a three-dimensional performance space. Drowning in that mellow tone and waking up to a sharp phrase … such a moment is a live album that continues for about 85 minutes.
Al Di Meola embarked on a vigorous tour to vent his frustration after going through a pandemic. It is one of the products in which the modern master leaned against his arm and recorded the performance in Japan. A new masterpiece from Japan that boasts to the world. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2022年10月13日：大阪公演（アーリー・ショウ）」。その極上オーディエンス録音です。ディ・メオラもパンデミックでツアー休止を余儀なくされていたのですが、シンプルなバンド構成のためかいち早く活動を再開。精力的に世界を巡っています。そんなレジェンドの近況を知る意味でも、まずは2022年の活動概要を俯瞰してみましょう。

これが2022年のアル・ディ・メオラ。パンデミック勃発の2020年にはほとんどライヴができませんでしたが、翌2021年には早くも例年に迫る公演数でツアーを再開。その勢いを駆ってか、今年（2022年）は大爆発。ディ・メオラの場合、過去データが充実しているとは言いがたいので断言はできませんが、キャリア・ハイではないかという凄まじい本数のステージをこなしています。その中で10月は「ハワイ→日本→韓国→豪州」と環太平洋をサーキット。日本では「東京×２＋横浜＋大阪」の４日間を１日２公演のペースで巡業。合計８公演が実施されました。本作に記録されているのは、そのうち「大阪の1stショウ」です。
そんな現場を真空パックした本作は、当店でお馴染みの名手“西日本最強テーパー”氏によるオリジナルマスターで、まさに極上のオーディエンス録音。骨太な芯は距離感なく耳元に届き、ディテールも超鮮やか。普段の“最強”氏録音に比べるとホール鳴り成分を感じやすくなっていますが、これは恐らく意図的なものでしょう。もちろん、“最強”氏コレクションですからサウンドボード的なド密着感はたっぷりあるのですが、今回の旨みは「小さいハコの密室感」。現場は約300人ほどの会場でして、しかも音響的にも非常に優れている。ホールよりも遙かに身近でありつつ、クラブよりも上品なサウンドがものの見事に記録されているのです。
実際、その美しさには言葉を失う。前回（2020年）はピアノやアコーディオンといったメロディ楽器とのアンサンブルでしたが、今回はアミット・カヴシカー（タブラ）／リッチー・モラレス（パーカッション）とのトリオ編成。多彩でカラフルながらもスキマの多い打楽器の合間を舞うように流れるギターは、複雑に絡み合おうとも決して混じり合わない。その１音１音が綺麗に浮き立ち、間近にも関わらず立体的な演奏空間をしっかりと感じさせる。そのトロけるようなトーンに溺れ、切れ味鋭いフレーズに目が覚める……そんな瞬間が約85分絶え間なく続くライヴアルバムなのです。
パンデミックの活動級を経て、逆に鬱憤を晴らすように精力的なツアーに乗り出したアル・ディ・メオラ。その来日公演を現代の名手が腕に寄りをかけて記録しきった銘品中の銘品です。まさに世界に誇る日本発の新名盤。どうぞ、存分に味わい尽くしてください。
