In 2005, ACCEPT reunited with founder Udo Dirkschneider for the first time in nine years and returned to Japan with a twin guitar formation. The super-superb original recording is here.
“July 30, 2005 SHIBUYA-AX performance” is imbued in this work. It is the transcendental audience recording. The 2005 reunion was different from the 90s in many ways. First of all, it was a 5-member formation that recalled Herman Frank, it was a tour-only project that did not create works, and U.D.O. This is also a good opportunity, so let’s take a look back at the activity overview.
・ February 19: Böblingen performance
* April 25-29: Eastern Europe (3 performances)
* May 15: Appearance at Rock Hard Festival
* June 4-12: Europe #1 (3 performances)
・ June 24: Appearance at Bang Your Head
* June 25-July 17: Europe #2 (4 performances)
* July 29-August 2: Japan (4 performances) ← here
* August 6-27: Europe #3 (5 performances)
《September 30: U.D.O. “MISSION NO. X” Release》
・ December 17: Berlin performance
*Note: The “*” mark is the show as ACCEPT, and the “・” mark is the stage of U.D.O.
This is the 2005 ACCEPT/U.D.O. ACCEPT’s European tour was divided into several performances, and Japan was also included in it. Although U.D.O. had only three live performances, they were working on the album “MISSION NO.X” at the same time. Also, on June 24th, “Bang Your Head” was performed by U.D.O., but on June 25th, “Graspop Metal Meeting” was performed by ACCEPT. It has been a very mixed year. Let’s zoom in on the schedule for the first time in nine years.
・July 29: SHIBUYA-AX
・July 30: SHIBUYA-AX ← ★This work★
・July 31: Namba hatch
・ August 2: DIAMOND HALL
A total of 4 performances. It is a style that compactly tours Higashi-Meihan, and this work was the second concert.
“This work, vacuum-packed from such a show, is just the best!” The original DAT master brought in through its own route produced a very thick/zero-distance close-knit sound. Although it also absorbs the enthusiasm of the real scene, the essential performance sound is “just like a sound board” itself. Since it’s SHIBUYA-AX, it’s definitely indoors, but even if I listen carefully with headphones, I can’t feel the hall noise component, and there’s no echo like an outdoor festival. Still, all the instruments are right in front of me, Udo’s vocals are breathtaking, and I can feel the vibration of the skin with each beat of the drum. Of course, the sense of separation is also outstanding, the twin guitars do not mix even if they are entwined, and the deep bass chorus is thick, but you can feel the voice of each person properly. Although it was recorded 17 years ago, it is not so common in the present age of 2022. That is the transcendental live album that serves as “official substitute for ACCEPT in 2005”.
A full show that vividly revives the golden 80’s is drawn with such an official-class sound. Unlike the 90’s, there are no new songs, so it’s a 100% pure Greatest Hits. Let’s organize the contents of the set here so that you can feel the richness.

… and it looks like this. At our shop, we also introduce the 90’s Japan albums “NAGOYA 1996: DAT MASTER (Shades 1387)” and “NAGOYA 1993: DAT MASTER (Shades 1385)”, but there are plenty of famous songs that you could not listen to in either of them. In particular, “Winter Dreams”, “Turn Me On”, and “T.V. War” are songs that are not even on the official name board “STAYING A LIFE” that came to Japan for the first time, and embody the ultimate “culmination of the golden age”. .
2005’s ACCEPT, in which Udo’s voice and twin harmonies spelled out the greatest hits, including the “RUSSIAN ROULETTE” number. This work is a decision board that you can enjoy the full show with official-class transcendent sound. Exactly “2005 version of STAYING A LIFE” … No, it is a live album of the highest career peak that is more than that. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
