This is THIN LIZZY in Snowy’s era. Speaking of records at that time, the full pro shot “AT ROCKPALAST” is representative, and other medium-length soundboard albums were discovered in the boxes “AT THE BBC” and “ROCK LEGENDS”. It has become the three major official sources. The Offenbach performance of this work is the 27th performance of “Europe # 4”, which is later than any of them. At this time, our masterpiece “DOMINION 1982 COLLECTOR’S EDITION (Shades 007)” has become a staple, and this work was about a month and a half before that.
This work, which was recorded at such a show, is a new master released recently, and is a clear recording with vivid sharp edges. Although it is really an audience-like type, there is no turbidity or cloudiness due to the feeling of air, and the dignified core reaches straight like a laser beam. At first glance, it seems like a balance that specializes in treble elongation, but heavy bass is not a spoiler. Rather, the rumbling bass attack sound is also vivid, and you can clearly see that it is linked like beads to create a groove. “Stadthalle Offenbach”, which was the scene, is a venue like TOKYO DOME CITY HALL and Grand Cube Osaka in Japan, but strangely only the hall sound component is spoiled, boasting a tight feeling comparable to a sound board. It is.
Moreover, this work is also the highest peak board that has arranged such new recordings. To be honest, the net original sound was rough edited, and there was noise blur in some places. In this work, such details are also beautifully treated. We have pursued perfection so that the original sound can be listened to as a work of music without degrading the vividness of the original sound.

Not only new songs, “Bad Reputation” played by Snowy is a delicious song that could not be heard on the official soundboards of “AT THE BBC” and “ROCK LEGENDS”.
In 1982, THIN LIZZY deepened the distinction between “pop Phil’s solo” and “heavy Lizzy” and embarked on the path to “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING”. This work is a live album where you can experience the transitional stage that is often overlooked with clear sound. Phil, whose creative urge never stopped, and Snowy, who supported him with a rich blues taste even in the past. Please fully enjoy the precious scene where both males stood side by side.

これがスノーウィ時代のTHIN LIZZY。当時の記録と言えば、フル・プロショット『AT ROCKPALAST』が代表格で、他にボックス『AT THE BBC』『ROCK LEGENDS』でも中尺のサウンドボード・アルバムが発掘。３大公式ソースとなっています。本作のオッフェンバッハ公演は、そのどれよりも後期にあたる「欧州#4」の27公演目にあたる。この時期には当店の名作『DOMINION 1982 COLLECTOR’S EDITION（Shades 007）』も定番となっており、本作はその約１ヶ月半前でもありました。
そんなショウで記録された本作は最近になって公開された新マスターで、鮮やかシャープなエッジも鮮烈なクリア録音。いかにもオーディエンスらしいタイプではあるものの、空気感による濁りや曇りはまるでなく、レーザー光線のように凛とした芯が真っ直ぐに届く。一聴すると高音の伸びに特化したバランスのようにも思えますが、重低音がスポイルわけではない。むしろゴリゴリとしたベースのアタック音も鮮烈で、それが数珠のように連なってグルーヴを生み出しているのがよく分かる。現場となった“Stadthalle Offenbach”は日本で言うTOKYO DOME CITY HALLやグランキューブ大阪くらいの会場なのですが、不思議なほどホール鳴り成分だけがスポイルされ、サウンドボードにも匹敵するタイト感を誇っているのです。
しかも、本作はそんな新録音を整えた最高峰盤でもある。正直なところ、ネット原音は編集が荒かったのか所々でノイズブレもありました。本作ではそうした細部も綺麗にトリートメント。原音の鮮やかさは汚すことなく、音楽作品として聴き通せる完成度を追求しました。

「ポップなフィルのソロ」と「ヘヴィなリジィ」の棲み分けを深め、『THUNDER AND LIGHTNING』への歩みを始めた1982年のTHIN LIZZY。本作は、見逃されがちな過渡期のステージをクリア・サウンドで体験できるライヴアルバムです。ソロを平行するほど創作意欲が止まらなかったフィルと、歴代でも濃厚なブルース・テイストで支えたスノーウィ。両雄が並び立っていた貴重な現場、どうぞ存分にご堪能ください。
