Immediately before the release of their 4th album “STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS”, the band appeared on “LATER … WITH JOOLS HOLLAND” at the BBC Television Center on February 11, 2000. The live of the day was broadcast on BBC Two on April 1, 2000, and several titles were released in the past, but the introduction and “Live Forever” broadcast on “TOP OF THE POPS 2” on another day There were points that were not recorded and problems with skipping, and more than 20 years had passed without the definitive edition.

This title is based on the beautiful high-definition source broadcast on BBC Two HD on April 16, 2022. 4thアルバムとなる『STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS』のリリース直前、バンドは2000年2月11日にBBCテレビジョンセンターで『LATER… WITH JOOLS HOLLAND』に出演した。この日のライブは2000年4月1日にBBC Twoで放送され過去に数タイトルがリリースされていたが、イントロダクションや、別日に『TOP OF THE POPS 2』で放送された「Live Forever」が収録されていない点、音飛びの問題点があり、決定版が存在しないまま20年以上の月日が経過していた。

本タイトルは、2022年4月16日にBBC Two HDで放送された美麗なハイビジョンソースを元にしたタイトルである。音質も過去のタイトルを一蹴する音質であり、ゲム・アーチャー、アンディ・ベルの両名を迎えた新生オアシスの勇姿を高画質なマテリアルで堪能できるタイトルとなっている。

さて肝心の内容であるが、このライブの直後のワールドツアー初日、横浜公演とは比較にならないほど素晴らしい出来のライブである。後々リアムのバロメーターとされた「Some Might Say」ではやや声が辛そうであるものの、額に汗を流しながらもマイクロフォンに食らいつくリアムの勇姿を高画質で拝むことができる。

「Where DId It All Go Wrong?」と「Gas Panic!」はこの日が初披露。さらに「Where Did It All Go Wrong?」はこの日限りのノエルによるアコースティック弾き語りバージョンであり、この日のハイライトの一つとなっている。もちろん新曲だけでない。1995年11月26日のマンチェスター公演以来、実に4年以上ぶりにセットインしたバンドの代表曲「Rock ‘n’ Roll Star」や、ノエルのギターよってかき鳴らされていたイントロのあのフレーズが、マイク・ロウによるピアノでオリジナルに忠実に演奏されるようになった「Don’t Look Back In Anger」など、過去の名曲も新メンバーの加入を経て従来とは異なった輝きを放ちはじめている様を、ぜひこの超高画質で堪能していただきたい。

ボーナストラックとして、オアシス名義では初となる「Half The World Away」を演奏した同年6月の『CHRIS MOYLES SHOW』と、同年9月の『JOHN LENNON NIGHT』を収録。いずれも聴きどころ観どころの多い音源・映像である。CD・DVD共に、美しいピクチャー・ディスク仕様の永久保存がっちりプレス盤。
