Following the astronomical hit of “BACK IN BLACK”, AC/DC became the leader of the scene with “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK” No. 1 in the United States. A new master who can experience the full show of the climax is here.
“Performance in London on October 16, 1982” is imbued in this work. It is a superb audience recording recorded at the traditional venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. Speaking of the early 80’s, the two visits to Japan are also memorable. In our shop, we have archived the peak era with various masterpiece live albums, so let’s organize the collection while overlooking the whole activity.

This is 1981/1982 AC/DC. After “UK # 1” is “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK Tour”, but this work is about a year later. It is the 15th performance of “UK # 2”. At this time, four consecutive performances were held at “Hammersmith and Smith”, and this work is the fourth day. Actually, AC/DC has not performed at this venue since this day. It will be their last Hammersmith Night.
This is a vacuum-packed version of such a historical scene, a new master with a wonderful clarity and freshness that will wake you up. As a matter of fact, the recording of this day has been known for a long time, and last year the famous German collector “GManOF” was released and became a topic in some areas. Actually, this work is also a “GManOF” collection, but it is the 1st Gene Master of the latest excavation, which is different from last year’s version. The upgrade is “completely different class”. No, the actual recording may be different. There is no doubt that they were recorded in almost the same position because the words of the cheers flying around are very similar, but the sounds are too different.
“Well, the quality is different, so at this point it doesn’t matter if the recordings are the same or different.” And this new master is just the best. Only the first song “Hells Bells” became unstable because the setting was not fixed, but it was stable by the end of the song. Although it does not differ from the sound board in terms of timbre, the powerful core and fine details have an amazing direct feeling that makes you want to make a mistake. Moreover, the sound is neat and glossy. The feeling of air is crystal clear, and the core that penetrates the middle is super clear to the smallest details. The distinct feeling of separating each note of the bass is not a humpa. If you express it for our customers, it is at the level of “like a prestigious Kinney or Crazy S. recording”.
A full show of the greatest heyday that is exciting now is depicted with such an exquisite sound. The set is familiar, but let’s put it in order.

これが1981年／1982年のAC/DC。「英国#1」以降が“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK Tour”なわけですが、本作はその約１年後。「英国#2」の15公演目にあたります。この時、“ハマースミスで・スミス”では４日連続公演が行われ、本作はその４日目。実は、この日を最後にAC/DCはこの会場で演奏していない。彼らにとって最後のハマースミス・ナイトなのです。
そんな歴史的な現場を真空パックした本作は、目も醒めるクリアさと瑞々しさが素晴らしい新マスター。実のところ、この日の録音は以前から知られており、昨年もドイツの有名コレクター“GManOF”が公開して一部で話題にもなっていました。実は本作も“GManOF”コレクションなのですが、昨年版とは異なる最新発掘の1stジェネ・マスターなのです。そのアップグレードぶりは「完全別物級」。いや、実際録音が違うのかも知れません。飛び交う歓声の言葉がそっくりなのでほとんど同じポジションで録音されているのは間違いないのですが、サウンドがあまりにも違い過ぎるのです。
まあ、クオリティが別物なのですから、録音が同じか違うかはこの際どうでも良いでしょう。そして、今回の新マスターは、まさに極上。１曲目「Hells Bells」のみセッティングが定まらなかったのか不安定になりますが、曲が終わるまでにはビシッと安定。音色的にサウンドボードとカン違いはしませんが、力強い芯と細やかなディテールはあえて間違えたくなる猛烈なダイレクト感が凄いのです。しかも鳴りが端正で艶やか。空気感がクリスタル・クリアでド真ん中を貫く芯は微細部まで超克明。ベースの１音１音までくっきりとしたセパレート感もハンパではない。当店のお客様向けに表現するなら「まるで名門キニーか、Crazy S.録音か」といったレベルなのです。
そんな極上級の淡麗サウンドで画かれるのは、今をときめく一大全盛のフルショウ。セットはお馴染みのものですが、一応整理しておきましょう。
