AC/DC / Paris 1982 / 2CDR / Shades
Rothonde Du Bourget, Paris, France 4th December 1982
AC/DC in 1982 was in the midst of its heyday, sending “The Devil’s Invitation” to No. 1 in the United States. An ultra-realistic live album that conveys the scene is now available.
“Performance in Paris on December 4, 1982” is imbued in this work. It is the burning audience recording. Speaking of the early 1980s, it was a memorable time when two performances in Japan were realized. First, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show.

This is 1981/1982 AC/DC. “Devil’s Invitation” was released in the fall of 1981, and circuited around the world for more than a year before and after that. The Paris performance of this work is the final stage of such a large-scale world tour. It was a concert that was the 6th performance of “Europe # 2”.
This work, which vacuum-packed such a scene, is a super-realistic vintage audience. It is not a type that can be mistaken for a sound board, and the somewhat stiff feel is vintage. However, its core is powerful and full of rushing power that penetrates the atmosphere. And above all, a hot on-site feeling. The momentum of boiling popularity climax becomes hot air and blows out from the speaker. If you write like this, you may think that it is covered with screams and strange voices, but it is a little different. Certainly, I picked up the “Oi!” Rather, the amount of heat makes my palm goo.
What draws out such enthusiasm is the climactic AC/DC live performance. Speaking of “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK Tour”, we are familiar with the press masterpiece “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1982 (Zodiac 534)” in Japan, so let’s compare and organize the set here.
● 70’s (9 songs)
・ Rock soul: Bad Boy Boogie / Whole Lotta Rosie / Let There Be Rock
・Others: The Jack/T.N.T./Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap/Sin City/Shot Down in Flames/Highway to Hell
● 80’s (7 songs)
・Back in Black: Hells Bells / Have A Drink On Me (★) / Shoot to Thrill / Back In Black / Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution

… and it looks like this. He also performed “Have A Drink On Me” and the precious “Let’s Get It Up” that he did not play on the “BACK IN BLACK Tour”. Especially the latter is a limited song only for “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK Tour”, and it is also a symbol of the golden age just by playing this song. Also, unexpectedly, “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)” was not played at Nippon Budokan, but it is a solid highlight in this work.
The “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK Tour” ended about two weeks after this work. There was no appearance of Phil Rudd in the next “FLICK OF THE SWITCH Tour”, and it took 12 years until the five golden people gathered again. Of course, although they had a wonderful live performance in the 90’s, they did not return to the explosive performance left to youth and the tension of the audience that was torn apart. This work is a new excavation live album where you can witness the scene of such a golden age with real sound. Please inhale the fragrance of that era to your heart’s content with this work.
