In recent years, “Mike Millard Tape” has been digitized from the tape directly connected to the master or the low generation tape. This tape was recorded by Mike Millard, a taper familiar to fans due to the outstanding technology of audience recording. The label has released several sound sources based on this newly digitized Mike Millard tape, but if you look closely, you can see “Brushed Mike Millard Tape” and “Legendary Mike Millard.” Did you notice that there are two types of tapes? Not all Mike Millard tapes have perfect sound quality, and some have a lot of room for improvement, and the “Brushed” series has been significantly improved. Originally, it is almost perfect and there is not much room for sound quality improvement, and the “Legendary” series is the one that has been kept to a minimum such as light editing between songs.
This time, Jesus appears from the “Legendary” series. It is a long beach performance in 1979, which is the latter half of the tour with the last album “Tomart” in the 70’s. Rick Wakeman, who was once different from Patrick Moraz, has been revived and has a golden lineup. High-quality sound that is not ashamed of the “Legendary” series, in which vocals and guitar are played vividly.

近年マスター直結、或いはロウ・ジェネレーションのテープからデジタル化が進んでいる“マイク・ミラード・テープ”。オーディエンス録音の卓越した技術でファンにはお馴染みのテーパー、マイク・ミラード氏により録音されたテープです。同レーベルからもこの新デジタル化のマイク・ミラード・テープをマスターにした音源が複数リリースされておりますが、よく見ると“ブラッシュド・マイク・ミラード・テープ”と“レジェンダリー・マイク・ミラード・テープ”の二種類があることにお気付きでしょうか。マイク・ミラード・テープも全てが完璧な音質なわけではなく、中にはかなり手を加えて改良の余地があるものもあり、大幅に手を加えて改良されたものが“ブラッシュド”シリーズ。元々完璧に近く音質改良の余地があまり無く、曲間等の軽い編集など最低限にとどめてあるものが“レジェンダリー”シリーズとなります。
今回は“レジェンダリー”シリーズよりイエス登場です。70年代最後のアルバム『トマート』を引っ提げてのツアーから後半となる1979年のロング・ビーチ公演です。一時パトリック・モラーツと変わり抜けていたリック・ウェイクマンが復活し黄金のラインナップ。ヴォーカルやギターが生々しく再生される“レジェンダリー”シリーズに恥じない高音質です。
