SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX), the last masterpiece engraved with British locks. A studio album that reprints its superb demonstration track from the legendary “Koji Tape” appears.
There are three kinds of sound sources contained in this work. Five backing tracks of “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)” and four songs of demo tracks. Also released in analog · single, it is two songs “Eddie Kramer Mix” which has not been officially digitized until now. Demo take is a bit more thrilling than live, but this work is “pin”. It is also a superb take that adds super. That is supposed to be, the original of this work is the original cassette owned by the late Koji Powell. It is what is called “Cozy tape”. As a matter of fact, the backing track is “PRODUCTION REHARSALS (Langley – 195)”, and the demo track is a sound source which was made into a disc with “ROCK IN ’85 (Langley – 299)”. However, both were sold out and out of print for more than 10 years ago, and requests for reprints have been requested. Therefore, this time, “Cozy · Tape” re-digitized from the actual thing, finished as “2017 · best version”.
Its quality is different from that of Demo album of Sonjyuso. In particular, the backing tracks of the top five songs are ultra beautiful sounds that are not inferior to the official album at all. Although the above Langley board was digitized using the technology at that time, there is no difference as to make a mistake, but the sound which “Cozy tape” was sucking in was confined to the press CD to the utmost to the nuisance.

Reviving with that sound is just the masterpiece “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)” soul. I am casually appreciating “UK MIX” from the previous time, but here is important and important. As it is now, let’s review about “SLIDE IT IN” easily.
There are three official mixes in “SLIDE IT IN”. The first is “Eddie Kramer Mix” of the preceding single (2 songs) only. Secondly, “UK MIX” released at that time in Europe and Japan, the third is “US REMIX” replaced by John Sykes (part) and Neil Murray (all). Currently, the worldwide default is “US REMIX”, but this is one that the record company made difficulty in once completed “UK MIX” and remodeled with the absence of key members such as Cavadair and Galley. Besides, only 10 days (!) For replacement, Keith Olsen, who was in charge of remixing, suffered suddenly while working. As a result, although Sykes’ guitar is halfway and a flashy objel is delicious, it has become a tiggy hug work. Neil’s base is more fatal than that. Of course, Neil is a good master of the master, but in “US REMIX” he is incredibly innocent and deceitful. I think that it is probably due to inconvenience to plug into the completed track … …. Anyway, it was a finished “?” Floating on Ian Paysburi of “SLAVES AND MASTERS”.
In contrast, the original “UK MIX” is an iron wall. It is made in accordance with the vision stated by the UK rock fighting members, and the blues rock they aimed is exactly shaped. This work is the production process, it is the best one to rediscover the original taste of “UK MIX”.
Particularly wonderful is the beginning backing track. If it says, it is a karaoke / track without songs, but the taste of the rhythm corps that bleeds out there is the best! Cozy’s drum pattern which is not merely powerful is transmitted in detail, and the base of Hodgkinson groaning and gorillo like to challenge there. In the first place, Koji is an extremely intense and drummer who can drown out the presence of the base. Nonetheless, Hodgkinson is not just a person who has a sense of presence just to say “Please listen to my bass!” While aligning with it. It is a human being who did not match the sled but that’s why the sharp pinching is a rhythm track emerging in vivid.
On the other hand, the demonstration track which also included the song of Cavadair was “another version of SLIDE IT IN”. While getting closer to the finished form, the roughness of the temporary song is studio live and it feels good. Here too, the rhythm corps has become a rough mix emphasized, and the natural wild feeling of the original beat is fully open. Furthermore, the “full version” full of feeling is the last two edits of “Eddie Kramer Mix” “Guilty Of Love” and “Gambler”. This is a take of the single “GUILTY OF LOVE” released on the occasion of “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1983”, at that time still “SLIDE IT IN” is under construction and producer Eddie Kramer. After that, we will replace Martin Birch and complete it, but these two songs are the “Kramer” stage which became public before that. It has never been officially digitized until now. This work has been finely reprinted from the best single-use analog and single.

This work is not just a demo. “Net British blues rock” before being repainted by GEFFEN records. It is a studio album like the concentrated reduction of the taste of “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)” which is the final masterpiece. When listening to “US REMIX” for the first time, it seems that Cavadair or Galley was “rude, Britain’s soul has disappeared!” What was that “soul”? It is a finest board that “Koji Tape” testifies its identity. Of course it is recommended for those who feel strangeness in “US REMIX”, but even those who did not feel much difference, on the contrary, after listening to “UK MIX” after this work, the anger of Cavadair and Galley said ” You will be getting acquainted with it “.
After that, converted Cavadel? Became a fan of “US REMIX”, WHITESNAKE himself changed. And one that naked the “British blues rock soul” that never returned again. Please enjoy it with the highest quality in history.

The main press CD “SLIDE IT IN WORKING TRACKS” was a masterpiece that made the taste of the UK Blues Rock’s last name “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)” totally naked. To that bonus, I will present a superb studio demo album that I dig deep into.
What is contained in this work is a demo of Koji Powell’s third solo album “OCTOPUSS”. Like the main press CD, it is the “Koji Tape” collection. Why WHITESNAKE’s bonus is Kozy’s solo? That’s because “SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)” and “OCTOPUSS” are brothers work by nearly the same members.
The occurrence goes back to the WHITESNAKE re-election plan. Cavadair who dismantled the classic lineup decided to resume activities in August 1982 when the contract with management ceased. First of all, we started to search for members by using Koji as a partner and Mel · Galley decided on the guitar. Next, John Road’s return will be decided.
Although it was Tonton racing so far, it was based on difficulties. In September 1982, he consulted Neil Murray, but his contract with Gary Moore has been decided and abandoned. So it was Collin Hodgkinson of former BACK DOOR that the arrow of the white player was standing. Originally Cavadair seemed to be a big fan of BACK DOOR, but also a tour member of John Road, that John recommended Collin. However, in the end, it is essential to be compatible with Koji, a rhythm pair. Prior to joining WHITESNAKE, I joined “OCTOPUSS” (Mickey Moody’s return will be decided in October 1982, so I am not going to participate in this work as well).

This work was produced in this situation. It is a demo track recorded at “Britannia Row Studio” in London in “September – October 1982” (Incidentally, just as around the same time (September 24, 1982), Cavadair was “SAINTS & SINNERS “vocals are also included). It was raised from the “EMI Britannia Row Studio” tape which Cozy himself possessed.
It is clear that it is a special class among the “Koji Tape” collection. Direct sound like entering the studio from an open door, as if Cozy was raging in front of you. In particular, detailed details such as “Rattler’s Revenge (Up On The Downs)” and “Princetown” are overwhelming.
The back stage of “OCTOPUSS” drawn with such quality is brilliant. What is noteworthy is the ensemble of “Shinsei WHITESNAKE” that is about to be born right now. In particular, “The Rattler” provided by Cavadair contains differences in versions of 4 takes, each with a different “attention member” depending on the mix. First of all in “Version 1”, Koji’s drum is a prominent mix, and in the following “Version 2” Mel’s guitar goes to the front and crosses with Koji’s drum equally. In addition, in “Version 3” the base of Colin, the last “Version 4” the keyboard of John Road is greatly featured. I do not know if I checked the ensemble at the site, but it is a take that I can enjoy to parse “Shinsei WHITESNAKE” by prime factorization.
Also, apart from WHITESNAKE, it is interesting also from a purely “OCTOPUSS” perspective. You can also decompose and analyze 3 song medley from “633 Squadron” which is a collaboration with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to “The Big Country”. First of all, in “633 Squadron (Orchestra Rehearsing)”, the London Symphony Orchestra’s sound matching and instructions to the orchestra by the conductor are lively, and in the following “Octopuss (Bass & Drum Machine)”, Hodgkinson plays the drum machine rhythm Ride and show off a distinctive thick bouncing baseline like WHITESNAKE even heard it. At the end of the medley “Big Country”, recorded in two stages, “rehearsal of the orchestra” · “entering cozy”. Strings’ strange way to change facial expressions with a single conductor’s guidance, while the drums burst into its backing, you can enjoy different mixes and arrangements than the finished version.

As I have repeated, “WHITESNAKE in 1982 – 1983” was not just a new lineup. Galley was a guitarist who was listed as a candidate prior to Barney Marsden in the era of WHITESNAKE, and Koji was also invited to subscribe before Ian Pace. And Hodgkinson and Mickey Moody are old friends with TRAMLINE and BACK DOOR. If Bernie and Pace were reluctant to join, six people of “1982 – 1983 WHITESNAKE” may have been called “classic”.
A superb studio / demo album that captured the moment when such a lineup got together. Please taste thoroughly with masterpiece “SLIDE IT IN WORKING TRACKS”.

CD『SLIDE IT IN WORKING TRACKS』は、英国ブルースロック最後の名盤『SLIDE IT IN (UK MIX)』の旨みを丸裸にする傑作でした。

特に「Rattler’s Revenge (Up On The Downs)」や「Princetown」等の細やかなディテールは圧倒的です。
