A one-shot distribution event of “LIVE AID”, which has become a hot topic in 2022. 2 luxury set titles that have the whole picture on DVD will be urgently released at the same time! This work is the first part of a blockbuster with 2 titles and a total of 10 discs. Of course, it is the largest music event “LIVE AID” in history held on “July 13, 1985”. Even now, there is an official channel on Youtube, but in 2002 the number of channel subscribers exceeded 1 million. To commemorate this, a non-stop streaming event “One Million Subscribers Event” was held from “December 28, 21:00” Japan time. The total delivery of more than 10 hours is divided into 10 parts, and this work is a 5-disc set in which Part 1 to Part 5 are arranged on each disc. “The biggest point this time is the quality.” Until now, the whole view of the event had to rely on the official DVD box of the 4-disc set or the air check at the time, but this time it will be the first full view since 1985 (It will be described later, but it is not complete). Although it was a broadcast master at that time, it was a different dimension from the air check. The quality is comparable to the official DVD box. “And it’s long.” The official DVD box was about 7 hours and 45 minutes (excluding bonus content) for 4 discs, but this work has 2 sets and 10 discs for a total of 10 hours and 13 minutes. Of course, there are also a lot of songs that were not in the official DVD box. There are 29 sets and 63 songs in the first part alone, but let’s pick up only the songs that can’t be seen on the official DVD.

… and it looks like this. Since it is 21 songs out of 63 songs, about 1/3 of this work is not on the official DVD. These can be enjoyed with official-class visual beauty (in this work, two Japanese artists are deleted). Also, although this version of the “One Million Subscribers Event” conforms to the broadcast master at the time, it is not exactly the same. Most of the scenes other than the live performance are omitted, and there are some songs that have added narration and video unique to “One Million Subscribers Event”, although it is very small. Is ULTRAVOX’s “Reap The Wild Wind” the easiest to understand in this work? Whether it was a problem with the master or not, a documentary-style video that intersperses the state of the day is inserted between the performance scenes. “Finally, there’s a common misunderstanding this time around.” In the pre-announcement, it was introduced as “complete music of Live Aid”, and I was excited that “the complete version is finally born!”, but it wasn’t all the songs. For reference, the number of songs that were not delivered in the first part is posted below.

Although the true complete version ended as an illusion, the volume of songs far exceeds the official DVD box volume. “LIVE AID” was one of the largest in the history of human music. また、今回の“One Million Subscribers Event”版は当時の放送マスターに準拠しているものの、完全に同じというわけでもありません。生演奏以外のシーンはほとんど省略されていますし、極わずかですが“One Million Subscribers Event”独自のナレーションや映像が加えられている曲もあります。本作で一番分かりやすいのはULTRAVOXの「Reap The Wild Wind」でしょうか。マスターに問題でもあったのか、演奏シーンの合間に当日の様子を散りばめたドキュメンタリー風の映像が挿入されているのです。
最後に、今回よく見られた誤解も。事前アナウンスで「complete music of Live Aid」と紹介され、「ついに完全版の誕生か！」と色めき立ったのですが、やはり全曲ではありませんでした。参考までに、以下に前編パートで未配信だった曲数を掲載しておきます。
