On September 18, 1976, San Bernadino, California recorded a live performance at the club “Aero’s Bogaerts” for about 78 minutes with a high-quality audience recording. Although it is a sound source that has been on the market since the past, this edition contains an upgraded version that has appeared in recent years. The sound quality is clear, and although the tape seems to have deteriorated over time, the freshness of the sound is perfect. Includes Van Halen’s unreleased song Believe Me from the beginning. Eddie’s transcendental solo that appears twice in the song is a must-listen. The familiar Show Your Love and Running With The Devil are also played. Because of the club-era sound source, they play familiar cover songs on most of the set, and their musical roots can be seen in Aerosmith, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Winter. , Kiss, Humble Pie, Slade numbers can be heard in a lively Van Halen version. The medley performance of Zeppelin’s The Rover and Aerosmith’s Sweet Emotion, which are medleyed from Running With The Devil, is the first half of the listening place. The songs are not only touching, but they are played fairly well, so every song is a perfect score to listen to. It’s a pity that Walk This Way was cut early, but you can also enjoy the wonderful performance of the next 8-minute enthusiasm Superstitious. Dave’s vocals are great in every song, but Eddie’s super-advanced riffs and solo play are great, and you’ll hear each of the tricky shred solos featured in each song. Since the range of the sound image is narrow, there are places where you want to hear with a slightly clearer sound, but as mentioned above, there is no problem with the freshness and clearness of the sound, so you can listen without stress.

The sound source of the time when Van Halen was active in the club scene appeared. This is a CD-R recording a live performance at the club Bogart in San Bernadino, California on September 18, 1976. An upgraded version of the audience recording with improved sound quality compared to the existing version. It sounds clear for the recording at that time. Van Halen had a regular appearance at Gazzarri’s in West Hollywood during this period, and was the first to perform live at Bogart. Since I was in the position of a cover band, most of the songs played were cover songs, and the selection of songs is interesting. Last Child (Aerosmith) and Live For The Music (Bad Company) are songs from the album released this year. Even though it’s a cover song, Eddie’s fast-playing guitar play is exploding, and Dave’s shout makes it sound like their song. The BBA version of Superstitious’s guitar solo is long and features a short drum solo. The arrangement of Sweet Emotion is especially wonderful. Three of their original songs are included, Believe Me is an unreleased song, and Show Your Love is a song that will be “I’m The One”. Running With The Devil is almost the same as the version recorded on the debut board.

1976年9月18日、カリフォルニア州サンベルナディーノはクラブ「エアロズ・ボガーツ」でのライブを高音質オーディエンス録音で約78分収録。過去より出回っていた音源ですが、本盤は、近年登場したアップグレード版を収録しています。音質はクリアーで、テープの経年劣化は感じさせるものの、音の鮮度は音質は申し分ありません。冒頭からヴァン・ヘイレンの未発表曲Believe Meを収録。曲中２回登場するエディの超絶ソロは必聴。お馴染みShow Your Love、Running With The Devilもプレイされています。クラブ時代の音源ゆえ、セットの大半でお馴染みのカバー曲を演奏しており、彼らの音楽的ルーツが伺えるエアロスミス、バッド・カンパニー、レッド・ツェッペリン、ZZトップ、スティーヴィ・ワンダー、ジョニー・ウィンター、キッス、ハンブルパイ、スレイドのナンバーの数々を生々しいヴァン・ヘイレン・ヴァージョンで聴くことができます。 Running With The Devil からメドレー演奏されるツェッペリンのThe Rover、エアロスミスのSweet Emotionのメドレー演奏は前半の聴き所です。楽曲は触りだけではなく割としっかり演奏しているので、どの曲も聴きごたえ満点。Walk This Wayは開始早々カットが残念ですが、次に収録されている８分の熱演Superstitiousも素晴らしい演奏が楽しめます。どの曲でもデイブの存在感溢れるボーカルが最高ですが、何といってもエディの超高度なリフとソロプレイが素晴らしく、各曲でフィーチャーされているトリッキーな速弾きソロにはそれぞれ聴き入ってしまいます。音像のレンジが狭いので、もう少し抜けの良い音で聴きたいと思う箇所もありますが、前述の通り、音の鮮度やクリアネスは問題ありませんので、ストレス無く聴き入ることができます。
