そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2012年４月21日グリーンズボロ公演」。その超接写オーディエンス・ショットです。本作最大のポイントはド肝を抜く「目の前感」にあるわけですが、昨今は再編VAN HALENのリリースラッシュ。混乱を避けるためにも、まずは当時のスケジュールから振り返ってみましょう。

そんなショウで撮影された本作は、ステージ直近の最前列体験がド迫力な超密着ショット（厳密に言うと最前列ではなく２列目なのですが、前列のお客さんが小柄な女性なので実質的な違いはありません）。とにかく、その近さが異様。デイヴもエディも手を伸ばせば触れそうなほど「すぐそこ」なのです。ズームなどしなくても顔の皺までクッキリなのですが、本作の撮影者は欲が深い。最前からさらにデジタル・ズームで迫りまくって顔面や手元が画面からハミ出す程の超ドアップをたっぷり捉えているのです。しかも、この人物の前にいるのは本物のカメラ・クルー。そのため、スクリーンで会場中を沸かせようとデイヴがちょくちょく悪戯に来る。「物理的に近い」「デイブが寄ってくる」「さらにデジタル・ズーム多用」……という三密ショットなのです。
実際、本作のド迫力ぶりは尋常ではない。『TULSA 2012』の観やすいハイクオリティぶりも素晴らしく、実のところサウンド面では本作は及びません（これでサウンドまで超絶だったら問答無用のプレスでした）でした。しかし、本作の「ビックリ度」「興奮度」はズバ抜けている。オーディエンス・ショットの魅力は多種多様ですが、その中でも特別なのが「普通じゃチケが買えない特等席の体験感」。本作は、その特等席感が比類ない超絶映像なのです。

……と、このようになっています。「北米#2」はセットが固まりつつある時期で珍しい曲は少なめなのですが、その中で光っているのが「Outta Love Again」。このところ再結成時代を多数アーカイヴしているので麻痺しがちですが、この曲は33年ぶりに復活した2012年の限定曲であり、それも16回しか演奏していないなかなかのレア曲。もちろん、本作が唯一無二の記録とは言えないわけですが、これほど目の前で体験できる記録は他にないでしょう。
マニアがオーディエンス・ショットに求めるモノは十人十色。時にプロショットで観られないメンバーや演出の確認であったり、時にトラブルが起きたショウの証拠映像であったり。しかし、そうした魅力は言ってしまえば「プロショットの代わり」にすぎません。しかし、本作は違う。客席撮影でしかあり得ないワンカメ・フルショウの体験感。それもどう頑張ってもチケが取れない中央・最前付近の。「オーディエンス・ショットにしては」ではなく、「オーディエンス・ショットだけの」魅力を頂点的に味わえる大傑作。どうぞ、できる限りの大画面でお楽しみください！
