　新作からのシングル「Only You Can Rock Me」がヒットした事もあり、主にBLUE OYSTER CULTをサポートに起用したこの全米ツアーは、各地で大きなリアクションを獲得します。ショウも連日ソールド・アウト。この時のUFOライヴの勢いや迫力は、10月のシカゴ公演やルイスヴィル公演を収めた公式ライヴ「STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT」が示すとおり。このようにUFOの全米制覇は目前と思われましたが、すでにマイケルはフィル・モグとの関係や過酷なツアーで大きなストレスを抱えており、アルコールの問題も深刻になっていました。その彼が限界に達したのもこの「OBSESSION」ツアーでした。彼はアメリカツアーの終了と同時にUFOを脱退し、ドイツへの帰国、そして後のMICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP結成への道を選ぶのです。

　ディスクを再生した直後のオープニング・アナウンス、そして1曲目の「Hot ‘n’ Ready」からオーディエンスは大興奮の様相を示しており、聴き手は絶頂期UFOライヴのムードと迫力を生々しく味わえます。濁りや歪みの気にならない音像と確かな明度と見通しを持つサウンドには、誰もがマスター・クオリティを確信するでしょう。
　そして熱狂する客席以上に熱いのがバンドの演奏。「Pack It Up」・「Cherry」でも、ダイレクト感に富んだパワフルな音色が素晴らしいです。特にマイケルのギターをしっかりと聴き取れるのは重要なポイント。「Cherry」での鋭利なギター・サウンドや、ドラマティックかつ繊細な「Love To Love」のプレイもリアルに楽しめます。このサウンドは”マイケルとUFOにとって最後ライヴ”という本作の意味や価値を、さらに高めていると言えるでしょう。
　この日はATLANTA RHYTHM SECTIONのオープニングとしての出演だったため、 全体の演奏時間は限られています。しかしその分セットリストにムダの無い、ベスト・アルバムのような選曲になっています。ライヴ中盤「Only You Can Rock Me」からは、「Doctor Doctor」に「Lights Out」そして「Rock Bottom」・「Too Hot To Handle」と、「STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT」さながらの展開が圧巻！　10分間に及ぶ「Rock Bottom」では、マイケルのロングソロが特に凄まじい。マニアの間で囁かれる「マイケルは苦境のほうが良いソロを弾く」という”格言”にも、思わず納得しそうになります。これにはオーディエンスも聴き手も揃ってノックアウトされるでしょう！
