Introducing the tape “Mike Millard Tape” recorded by Mike Millard, a taper familiar to fans with the outstanding technology of audience recording. Several sound sources based on Mike Millard tape have been released from the same label, but if you look closely, there are two types, “Brushed Mike Millard Tape” and “Legendary Mike Millard Tape”. Did you notice that there is? Not all Mike Millard tapes have perfect sound quality, and some of them have room for improvement, and the “Brushed” series has been significantly improved. Originally, it is almost perfect and there is not much room for improvement, and the “Legendary” series is the one that has been kept to a minimum such as light editing between songs.
This time, U2 is introduced from the “Legendary” series. High-quality sound that is not ashamed of the name of the “Legendary” series. The only downside is that unfortunately the encore set wasn’t recorded, but it’s supplemented by another audience source. Therefore, only the encore set is not a genuine Mike Millard sound source, so don’t be afraid. It is a valuable live sound source of the album “Achtung Baby” that marked the beginning of the 90’s, which is said to be the turning point of U2.

オーディエンス録音の卓越した技術でファンにはお馴染みのテーパー、マイク・ミラード氏により録音されたテープ『マイク・ミラード・テープ』登場です。同レーベルからマイク・ミラード・テープをマスターにした音源が複数リリースされておりますが、よく見ると『ブラッシュド・マイク・ミラード・テープ』と『レジェンダリー・マイク・ミラード・テープ』の二種類があることにお気付きでしょうか。マイク・ミラード・テープも全てが完璧な音質なわけではなく、中にはかなり手を加えて改良の余地があるものもあり、大幅に手を加えて改良されたものが『ブラッシュド』シリーズ。元々完璧に近く改良の余地があまり無く、曲間等の軽い編集など最低限にとどめてあるものが『レジェンダリー』シリーズとなります。
今回は『レジェンダリー』シリーズからU2の登場です。『レジェンダリー』シリーズの名に恥じない文句無しの高音質。唯一の欠点は、残念ながらアンコール・セットが未収録だった点ですが、別のオーディエンス音源から補ってあります。従ってアンコール・セットのみマイク・ミラード純正音源ではありませんので悪しからず。U2の転換期と言われる90年代の幕開けを飾ったアルバム『アクトン・ベイビー』期の貴重なライヴ音源です。
