The latest footage has arrived where you can witness the hottest show with David Paich’s jump in. It is an urgent release decision with a 2-disc set that couples 2 types of special seat shots with a superb view.
This work was shot at “Sacramento performance on April 1, 2022”. It is the superb view audience shot. Currently, TOTO is accompanying JOURNEY’s “FREEDOM Tour 2022” as an opening act. The other day, the breaking live album “BOSTON & DETROIT 2022 (Uxbridge 1598)” was also very well received. First of all, let’s check the position of the show from the latest schedule, which also serves as the collection organization.

This is the schedule that has been announced so far. The Sacramento performance of this work was the 20th performance of the latest tour. This work, which is a vacuum-packed show, is a two-disc set that couples two superb views with completely different personalities. I think there are some people who have already come. Yes, this work is a sister work of JOURNEY’s “Uxbridge 1628” which will be released at the same time this week. It is a TOTO version by the same photographer.

[Arena Shot (DISC 1) and Circle Shot (DISC 2)] As expected, there was only continuous shooting of the same person, and the quality of this work is very similar to the JOURNEY version. DISC 1 is an “Arena Shot” captured from the left side near the stage, which has become a hot topic as a “Pro Shot”. The reason is not only the proximity of the stage, but also the height of the same line of sight as the members is far from the audience, so that the stage occupies the entire view with no obstruction. Moreover, the sound is extremely on and there is plenty of direct feeling. It’s not a multi-camera, and although it doesn’t really have a hand or facial expression, it seems like you would believe it if you were told, “It’s a shot of a person involved in one turtle.”
DISC 2 instead is also a “circle shot” by the same photographer as the JOURNEY version. It may be an unfamiliar word, but the point is a panoramic shot looking down from the stand seat on the 2nd floor (3rd floor?). The great thing about this is that it doesn’t follow the highlights with a zoom, but it contains the whole “everything on the stage”. Even so, at first I shake the camera to feature the highlights, but on the way I realized that the whole view was better, so I almost fixed it. As a matter of fact, the JOURNEY version may be a more effective shooting method than the opening act TOTO, but by combining it with this work, it is possible to have a “through experience from the same photographer’s point of view”.

[Special stage with the appearance of Pachi] The one and only full show is drawn with such two superb views. After all, this show is a hot night with Peach’s guest participation. In the first place, Peach is still an official member of TOTO, but since 2018 he has not participated in the tour due to health problems. I have participated occasionally, but the last time I appeared was Chiaki Raku of “40 TRIPS AROUND THE SUN Tour” (you can enjoy the pattern of this show at our “PHILADELPHIA 2019 (Uxbridge 1152)”). It was the first appearance in two and a half years.
Of course, Peach is not a full participation. Introduced by Steve Lukather in the middle of the show “There’s a little special surprise tonight. これが現在までに公表されているスケジュール。本作のサクラメント公演は、最新ツアーの20公演目にあたるコンサートでした。そんなショウを真空パックした本作は、個性のまるで違う２つの絶景映像をカップリングした２枚組。もうピンと来た方もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。そう、本作は今週同時リリースとなるJOURNEY篇『Uxbridge 1628』の姉妹作。同じ撮影者によるTOTO篇なのです。

【アリーナ・ショット（DISC 1）とサークル・ショット（DISC 2）】
さすがに同一人物の連続撮影だけあって、本作のクオリティはJOURNEY篇と酷似。DISC 1はステージ近くの左側から捉えられた「アリーナ・ショット」で「まるでプロショット」と話題になっている映像。その要因はステージの近さだけなく、メンバーと同じ目線の高さがオーディエンス離れしており、それによって遮蔽物ナシに視界全部をステージが占領している。しかも音声も極めてオンでダイレクト感たっぷり。マルチカメラではありませんし、さすがに手元や表情ドアップとはいかないものの、「ワンカメの関係者ショットですよ」と言われたら信じてしまいそうです。
代わってのDISC 2もJOURNEY篇と同じ撮影者による「サークル・ショット」。聞き慣れない言葉かも知れませんが、要は２階（３階？）スタンド席から見下ろした全景ショット。こちらの素晴らしさは、見どころをズームで追うのではなく、「ステージのすべて」を丸ごと収めきっている事。それでも最初は見どころをフィーチュアしようとカメラを振るのですが、途中で全景の方が良いと気づいたのか、ほぼ固定化していくのです。実のところ、オープニング・アクトのTOTOよりもJOURNEY篇の方が効果絶大な撮影法だったりもするのですが、本作と併せることで「同じ撮影者視点による通し体験」も可能なわけです。

【ペイチ登場のスペシャル・ステージ】
そんな２つの絶景で描かれるのは、唯一無二のフルショウ。何しろ、このショウはペイチがゲスト参加した事で話題の夜なのです。そもそもペイチは今なおTOTOの正式メンバーなのですが、2018年以降は健康問題によってツアーには不参加。ときおり飛び入り的に参加もしてきましたが、前回登場したのは“40 TRIPS AROUND THE SUN Tour”の千秋楽（このショウの模様は当店の『PHILADELPHIA 2019（Uxbridge 1152）』でお楽しみ頂けます）。２年半ぶりの登場となったわけです。
もちろんペイチはフル参加ではありません。ショウの中盤、スティーヴ・ルカサーによる紹介「今夜はちょっとした特別なサプライズがあるんだ。ジェフリーとバンドを始め、俺にすべてを教えてくれたブラザーが俺たちとジャムるために休眠を切り上げてきてくれたんだ」に導かれて登場。いつもより多めの４曲で共演しています。では、久々の共演はどの曲だったのか。ここでフルセットを整理しつつ、チェックしておきましょう。
