Following the success of his solo work “FULL MOON FEVER”, Tom Petty in 1991 also won “INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN” as a multi-platinum. The original master who is an absolute master who can experience the site best is excavated.
It was “November 9, 1991 Costa Mesa performance” that was imbued with such a work. It is a superb audience recording left by the historical master Mike Millard. If you’re stuck in this article, you might think of “COSTA MESA 1990: MIKE MILLARD ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES (Zion-162)” when you have “Tom Petty,” “Millard,” and “Costa Mesa.” It is a press masterpiece that was said to be Tom Petty’s masterpiece, but this work is a live album that can be said to be the sequel to it. Although this work is just a record of “INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN Tour”, let’s take a broader overview of the activities in order to imagine the positional relationship of the sister works.

This is Tom Petty from 1989 to 1991. In the “FULL MOON FEVER” era, two mirrored works “LOS ANGELES 1989 (Uxbridge 1528)” and “COSTA MESA 1990” are known, and for Millard who is said to “do not want to record the same band twice”. rare. It is a collection that exudes how Millard at that time believed in Tom. In particular, the latter “COSTA MESA 1990” of the press masterpiece is the same as this work up to the venue. It is a sister edition with the same environment as the same recorder and venue.
Actually, this work is as good as my sister’s work ……, but it’s a younger sister’s work that looks just like its beauty. When played side by side, this work feels that the hall sound is slightly thicker, but that is also a slight difference. Moreover, the core that reaches through the sound is powerful and the edges are sharp. The clear outline and dynamic thickness coexist, and depending on your taste, you may like it more than your sister’s work “COSTA MESA 1990”.
I talked with Sarah in a sister comparison, but this is actually amazing. After all, Tom Petty’s press title at our shop is only one of “COSTA MESA 1990” (except for the one that co-starred with Dylan). It’s a masterpiece of masterpieces, and sisters who look exactly like it are the greatest compliments that go beyond even a “soundboard.”
What is drawn with such a superb sound is a full show that is a bit different from my sister’s work. Let’s organize them while comparing them here.

・ Others: Psychotic Reaction (★) / I’m Tired Joey Boy (★) / Ben’s Boogie / Lonely Weekends
* Note: The “★” mark is a song that could not be heard in “COSTA MESA 1990 (Zion-162)”.

…… And it looks like this. Since the tours are different, it is natural that the set is different, and a large amount is included from the new work “INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN”. Not only that, but even in the classics, 5 songs that can not be heard in “COSTA MESA 1990” are selected, covers such as COUNT FIVE’s “Psychotic Reaction” and Van Morrison’s “I’m Tired Joey Boy”, and countless. You can also enjoy rare songs such as “Mystery Man”, which is only played.
It is a sister version of the year-old child recorded at the same venue as Tom Petty’s masterpiece “COSTA MESA 1990”. A new masterpiece where you can enjoy the “INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN” repertoire and rare songs with the finest sound inherited from your sister. The incredible beauty sisters that could only be achieved by Millard, who loved Tom very much. Please fully enjoy it together.

★ The best audience recording of “November 9, 1991 Costa Mesa performance”. It is a brand name created by the master of the absolute master Millard, and is a sister work of the same venue as the press masterpiece “COSTA MESA 1990 (Zion-162)” also made by Millard. My sister’s work was a super masterpiece that was said to be Tom Petty’s masterpiece, but it’s amazing because this work is not defeated either. You can enjoy the new songs of “INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN” and rare songs such as “Psychotic Reaction”, “I’m Tired Joey Boy” and “Mystery Man” with the direct feeling of the older sister’s work.

ソロ作『FULL MOON FEVER』の成功を受け、『INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN』もマルチ・プラチナムに輝いた1991年のトム・ペティ。
