Starting from last week’s first album “MAKUHARI 2019 (Uxbridge 1139)”, masterpiece recordings have popped out from all over the place, but this work is one of the vertices that suppresses all of them. It is a super-best audience recording of “October 10, 2019: Makuhari Messe” performance. It is a masterpiece that transcends even the dimension of which show was recorded, but this week, other performances will be released and rushed at the same time. Above, all 5 performances. In this way, we have live albums of all performances except Fukuoka on the first day. But don’t get me wrong here. The dimension where this work stands is not “one of the collections in the line”. It is “the top without the side by side”. Of course, our collection is a collection of masterpieces and masters from all over Japan. It’s just something that goes beyond the world’s high-level Japanese recording standards. However, even in that, this work has a different dimension. It is also a masterpiece of masterpieces that provided this work, but such a collection of people is also missing. In addition to “recording tech” and “site sound”, this is a miracle transcendental recording that also includes “luck of time”.
Although it has become only an image word, the sound of this work is really amazing. Everything is suitable for calling it a “sound board” with zero distance and de sticking, but if it ends only that, it will be rude to the sound source. Everything from high-pitched sounds to deep basses is glossy, and the strength of the core and the vibe of the fine parts are brilliant. Not only prominent sounds such as drums, guitars and vocals, but also beautiful separation of gender chorus singing and a little percussion. Even if it’s based, it feels like a bouncing groove at the vibration level of the strings (even though the volume is not big).
】 It’s super-high-quality sound that surprises me the moment I listen to it, but it’s even more surprising because it doesn’t flick. From the beginning of the performance to the end of the performance, there is no subtle sound shaking, and there is no chatter or crack. I breathe in real (and modest) moths, and when analyzed microscopically, there is no remnant of space in the moment when the vocals disappear. 以上、全５公演。このように当店では初日の福岡以外、全公演のライヴアルバムが出揃いました。しかし、ここで誤解しないで頂きたい。本作が立つ次元は「居並ぶコレクションの１つ」ではない。「並び立つ物のない頂」なのです。もちろん、当店コレクションは日本各地の名手・達人たちが腕に寄りをかけた逸品ぞろい。世界的にもハイレベルな日本の録音基準の、その上を行くものばかりです。しかし、その中にあっても本作はさらに次元が違う。本作を提供してくださったのも大傑作連発の名匠なのですが、そんな人物のコレクションでもズバ抜けている。“録音テク”・“現場音”に加え、“時の運”までもが味方した奇跡の超絶録音なのです。
なにやらイメージ・ワードばかりになってしまいましたが、本作のサウンドは本当に凄い。すべてがゼロ距離＆ド密着で「まるでサウンドボード」と呼ぶに相応しいのですが、それだけで終わらせたら音源に失礼にあたる。気持ちよく伸びる高音から重低音まで、すべてが艶やかで芯の力強さも微細部のヴァイヴも克明。ドラムやギター、ヴォーカルといった目立つ音だけでなく、男女コーラスの歌い分けやちょっとしたパーカッションも綺麗にセパレート。ベースにしても（特にヴォリュームが大きいわけでもないのに）跳ねるようなグルーヴも弦の振動レベルで感じるのです。
聴いた瞬間にびっくりする超・高音質なのですが、それが微動だにしないからさらに驚く。開演前から終演に至るまで極微細な音揺れも感じられず、ビビリも割れも当然なし。リアルな（それでいてささやかな）喝采も吸い込んでいますし、顕微鏡的に分析すればヴォーカルが消えゆく瞬間の伸びに空間の名残もなくはない。しかし、楽器ごとにマルチで録音したような分離感、一度スピーカーから出力された音とは思えない密着感、大気が凍り付いたように不動の安定感。それらがすべて揃ったサウンドには「これが本当に空気を介した空間録音？」という疑問が頭をグルグルと回るのです。
そんな奇跡のサウンドで描かれるのは、スティングの人生を凝縮した究極のベスト選曲ショウ。今回の来日では微妙にセットも変化しましたが、本作はその中でも最も標準的なもの。『MAKUHARI 2019』の解説でもご紹介しましたが、本作は永遠の名作として語り継がれるでしょうし、改めて整理しておきましょう。
