そんな本作に収められているのは「1986年６月25日モリソン公演」。デンバーの観光名所でもある“レッドロック野外劇場”で撮影されたマルチカメラ・プロショットです。この映像は公式作品『LIVE AT RED ROCKS』としても知られ、グラミー賞にもノミネートされた名作中の名作。しかし、本作はそんな公式品のコピーではありません。2010年に某衛星放送局の人気番組“洋楽ライブ伝説”で特集されたもの。番組独自の前説コーナーや日本語字幕も完備された日本放送バージョンです。
その内容に触れる前に、まずはショウのポジション。ソロとしては“WILD HEART TOUR”と並んでキャリア最大級だった“ROCK A LITTLE TOUR 1986”の全体像から確かめてみましょう。

これが1986年ツアーの全景。一応ワールド・ツアーではありますが、実際には米国・カナダ・オーストラリアの３ヵ国のみ。本作のモリソン公演は、そのちょうど真ん中に辺りとなる「北米#2」の14公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウを伝える本作は、元が公式作品だけあって完全オフィシャル級。しかも、放送が2010年という事もあって放送も録画も完全デジタル。放送局マスターの映像美を劣化ゼロでDVDに封じ込めている。しかも、前述の通り本作はグラミーにノミネートされた名作。そのカメラワークは空撮まで交えた豪華さで、多彩なカットを織り上げる編集も豪華絢爛（野外会場の空に巨大な稲妻を重ねていたり、明らかに後からスタジオ撮影したドアップを透かしたり。時代がかった演出が次々と出てくるのですが、それがチープに見えないクオリティが凄い）。さらに言えば、ミックスやサウンド・クオリティも名盤級という、80年代でもトップ・クラスの超傑作映像なのです。
まさに時代の最先端を体現した映像美で描かれるのは、FLEETWOOD MACとはまったく異なる“ソロのスティーヴィー”。約１時間で全９曲と短めではあるもののの、そこにはソロ作からのヒット曲を濃縮還元。ここで、そのセレクトも整理しておきましょう。

また、マルチカメラだからこそミック・フリートウッドやピーター・フランプトンの姿もばっちり。当時のフランプトンと言えば、シングル『Lying』が久々のヒットを記録し、翌年にはデヴィッド・ボウイの“GLASS SPIDER TOUR”にも参加している時期。ポップな世界にピタッとハマりながら熱くロックするギターを聴かせてくれるのです。
