It is a live sound source of Soft Machine when Alan Holdsworth was enrolled. Initially, it was a soft machine that was categorized as psychedelic and Canterbury with the color of Kevin Ayers, but after that it went to jazz featuring wind instruments and organs without a guitarist. Meanwhile, the guitarist was selected by the up-and-coming Allan Holdsworth, who was sought after by jazz-rock prog-rock bands such as Nucleus and Gong at that time. With the addition of Holdsworth, Soft Machine, which became a demon and a gold rod, released the masterpiece album “Bundles”, which featured a guitar and strengthened the rock color. This title allows you to enjoy the most rock-oriented jazz-rock performances of the “Bundles” period live. Sound board recording, although there are some parts that are slightly over-level. A remastering recording from a new master with a corrected pitch, and new track IDs such as the medley-style “Hazard Profile”.

アラン・ホールズワース在籍時ソフト・マシーンのライヴ音源です。初期はケヴィン・エアーズの色もありサイケやカンタベリー系にカテゴライズされていたソフト・マシーンですが、その後ギタリスト不在の管楽器とオルガンをフィーチャーしたジャズ方向に進みました。そんな中ギタリストに抜擢されたのが当時ニュークリアスやゴングと言ったジャズ・ロック系のプログレ・バンドで引っ張りだこの活躍をしていた新鋭アラン・ホールズワース。ホールズワースを加え、鬼に金棒状態となったソフト・マシーンはギターを大きくフィーチャーしロック色を強めた名作アルバム『バンドルス』を発表したのでした。本タイトルは『バンドルス』期の最もロック寄りなジャズ・ロックな演奏がライヴで楽しめます。ややオーバー・レヴェル気味の箇所もありますがサウンドボード収録。ピッチが訂正された新たなマスターからのリマスタリング収録で、メドレー式の『ハザード・プロファイル』などトラックIDも新たに整えられています。
