1970年1月26日、アルバム「明日に架ける橋」が世界同時発売された。たちまち1000万枚を売り上げ、全米第1位が合計10週。タイトル曲のシングルも全米第1位が合計6週。このアルバムからシングル・カットされた曲もそれぞれヒットチャートを賑わし、 ビージーズのサウンドトラック・アルバム「サタデー・ナイト・フィーバー」がリリースされるまで、最も売れたアルバムとしてギネス・ブックに掲載されることになる。

このライヴは、同じ年の5月2日オランダのアムステルダム、コンセルトヘボウで行われたもの。（既発タイトルはロケーション及びライブデイトがいまいちはっきりしていなく、1970年5月21日となっていたりしますが、5月2日。会場はコンセルトヘボウが正しいのです。この会場の音源はよく流出したり、ラジオ放送されたりしていますよね。）この音源を収録しているタイトルは多数ありますが、2枚に分かれていたり、El Conder Pasa “コンドルは飛んで行く” がカットされいたりと、どれも満足いかないものでしたが、ここに初めてディスク1枚で全曲収録の満足のいくタイトルが登場です！音質もクリアなサウンドボードなので問題ありません。

ライヴはポールのギターのみで進行しますがBridge Over Troubled Water”明日に架ける橋”ではラリー・ネクテルのピアノ伴奏になります。この「明日に架ける橋」でのアートの熱唱は必聴です。やはり会場は大きな拍手に包まれます。「みんなどうもありがとう。実はこの歌は僕が作ったんです。」と、ポールはステージの袖から、喝采を受けるアートに対して半ば嫉妬心を持って見ていたといいます。大ヒットアルバム「明日に架ける橋」の制作過程で表面化した二人の不仲は、もはや修復ができないくらいになっていましたが、このコンセルトヘボウ公演を聞く限りでは二人の不協和音を微塵も感じ取れません。ポールとアートはコンサートを本当に楽しんでいるように思える好演なのです。そしてこの後、アメリカに戻ってからの7月18日、ニューヨークのフォーレスト・ヒルズ・テニス・スタジアムでコンサートが二人の最後のコンサートとなってしまうのである。
