Coupling two kinds of high-quality sound board sound source of early U2. Disc 1 includes a complete 19-track recording of California Hall performances over about 69 minutes from San Francisco on May 15th from the 4th Leg North American Tour (3 / 3-5 / 31) in the 1981 “Boy” release period. At the end of the first full-fledged tour titled “The Boy Tour”, a set of starting with The Ocean and ending with the same song was assembled, and this time consisted of “Boy” and a single song. Every symbolic number is a perfect score. The minimal band sound with a fresh texture conveys the charm of the early U2 more directly than the album. It is only during this time that you can listen to the instrument Things To Make And Do recorded on the B-side of the single “A Day Without Me”. It has become an interesting hook in the middle of the live performance. Anyway, even beginners can enjoy it enough because the sound quality is excellent. Instead, the 2nd Leg North American Tour (11/13-12/13) in the 1981 “October” release period for Disc 2 was held on November 14th of the middle of the tour. Complete song recording. The whole story is recorded in a fine line recording with excellent sound separation. “October” recordings such as Gloria and Fire have been added, and the range of music has expanded, and the scale of the performance has increased by that amount. It ’s a perfect score. The flow of October to Stories For Boys, which changes the scene, sounds fresh. Like the May performance take, this is a must-have board for fans who can enjoy the original hot performances throughout the entire story. 初期U2の高音質サウンドボード音源２種をカップリング。ディスク１には1981年「Boy」リリース期の4th Leg北米ツアー(3/3～5/31)より5月15日のサンフランシスコはカリフォルニア・ホール公演を約69分に渡って全19曲完全収録。「The Boy Tour」と題された初の本格的ツアーの終盤にあたり、The Oceanでスタートし同曲で終了するというセットが組まれており、「Boy」及びシングル曲で構成された、この時期を象徴するようなナンバーはどれも聴きごたえ満点。生々しい質感をもったミニマムなバンドサウンドは、初期U2の魅力を、アルバム以上にダイレクトに伝えてくれます。「A Day Without Me」のシングルのＢ面に収録されたインストThings To Make And Doが聴けるのはこの時期だけで貴重。ライブ全体の中でも中盤の面白いフックになっています。とにかく音質が優れているので初心者でも十分に楽しめる内容です。代わってディスク２には1981年「October」リリース期の2nd Leg北米ツアー(11/13～12/13)よりツアー中盤の11月14日はボストンのオーフェウム・シアター公演を約65分に渡って18曲完全収録。音の分離感も素晴らしい上質なライン録音で全編を収録。GloriaやFireといった「October」収録曲が加わり、楽曲に幅が広がり、その分、演奏のスケールが増してきた時期で、上昇気流まっしぐらと言った感じの勢いを感じさせる演奏は素晴らしく、どの曲も聴きごたえ満点です。場面をガラッと変える感じのOctober～Stories For Boysの流れも新鮮に響きます。5月公演テイク同様に、全編に渡って初期ならではの熱い演奏を楽しめるファン必携盤。内容・音質ともに大変優れており、初心者でも十分に楽しめるお薦めの一枚です。
