　「SWEDISH WALL」の超絶クオリティも凄かったですが、こちらもどうしてかなりの逸品。さすがに、カメラの台数や会場の大きさなどでは「SWEDISH WALL」に及ぶべくもありませんが、特筆すべきは画質。「SWEDISH WALL」では野外会場ゆえに、夕暮れ時の序盤は色合いが微妙なシーンもありますが、屋内公演の本作では最初から鮮やかな発色が素晴らしい。いかなデジタル撮影全盛の現代とは言っても、ここまで細やかな画質はそうそうお目にかかれません。
　また、２日分から贅沢にカットを選んでいることも本作のアドバンテージ。元々、見事な撮影として知られていたシカゴ４連続公演の初日と２日目のライブ映像を巧みな編集でミックスしており、撮影者は両日共に「テープヘッド２」なる人物。説明によると、製作者側がこのテーパーより直接マスターを入手して一長一短のシーンを取捨選択したそう。遠目からのステージ全景映像（初日）とステージ向かって左サイドからの接近映像（２日目）からのベストパートを上手くミックスさせることで、それぞれの大元のテイクを遥かに上回る映像を作り上げているのです。オーディオは初日をメインに使用しているとのことですが、２日目映像とのミックスに違和感はまったくありません。元々の素材の見事さもあったわけですが、このミックス版の完成度、そして作品としての魅力は、本当に信じられないほどです。
　「いくら良くても、キッチリ構成されたライヴが２つあっても……」という方もいらっしゃるかも知れません。しかし、本作はツアー極初期だけに、終盤の「SWEDISH WALL」と見比べる楽しみもあるのです。特に面白いのは「Another Brick In The Wall Part 2」で登場する子どもたち。「SWEDISH WALL」では、ゆったりと身体を揺らす程度ですが、本作シカゴ公演では、キビキビと躍動感溢れるダンスを披露。明らかにショウ経験がある子ども達であり、さすがはエンターテインメント大国のアメリカですね。他にも、開演の演出からして違うなど、細かな違いを探すのも一興です。

　まさかの大感動作「SWEDISH WALL」が登場していなかったら、本作が将来のプレス化候補NO.1でした。ボーナスDVDRではありますが、こちらもビットレートを落とすことのない２枚組仕様に仕上げました。2010年９月から2013年９月まで、丸３年にわたったビッグ・プロジェクト「THE WALL LIVE」。その始めと終わりの大傑作を一度に手に入れるチャンスです。ぜひ、この機会をお見逃しなく！
