1972年北米ツアーより6月18日、19日の2日間行われたシアトル公演を、現時点で一番最良と言われているオーディエンス・ソースを使用し収録。(Disc1 Announcement 0:48、Disc2 Since I’ve Been Loving You 5:59、Stairway To Heaven9:52、9:55、10:43、Tangerine0:32、Moby Dick14:07、Whole Lotta Love25:52、Rock And Roll 1:34、4:32、5:11、5:26でのカット、Disc2 Immigrant Song、Going To California、Disc 4 Over The Hills And Far Awayでのカット・インは既発同様です)初日の18日ですが、3日にローリング・ストーンズのヴァンクーバーでのコンサートで暴動が起きた為、最終的にはヴァンクーバーでの開催が不可能になり、何台ものバスでカナダのファンをシアトルまで運んでようやく開催される結果となりました(その際にバスが渋滞に巻き込まれて開演時間が繰り下げれた経緯があり、その影響から小振りのセットリストになっています)この75シアトル等の録音者として有名なStan Gutowski録音(Tandberg製 Model 11 オープンリールデッキ、Sony製 ECM-22P マイクを使用)ですが、2本のリールテープで公演全体を録音しましたが2本目のテープのセット方向を間違えてしまい、実際にはGoing to Californiaまでで後半部分が未収録というものになってしまいました。この不完全収録ながら72年度公演としては最上位にランクされる音質(過去に極少数ではありますが、パッケージ化されてます)ですが、今回の音源はStan所有のマスターリールから初めてダイレクトにデジタル化された音源を使用しており、過去最高と断言できる、粒立ちの良い素晴らしくクリアなサウンドには感動してしまう事間違いありません。翌日の19日(当初から予定されていたシアトル公演)は、The Ocean、Over the Hills And Far Awayが初めて演奏されたり、Dancing Daysが2回演奏されたり、Black Country Womanがフルで演奏されたり、Organ Solo部分でもAmazing Grace、Everyday People、Louie Louie、Let’s Dance等、極めてレアな楽曲が導入されたりと、3時間半に渡って演奏されたこの公演は、内容的には72年USツアーではベストな日と語り継がれています。90年代から度々パッケージ化はされてきましたが、演奏内容の素晴らしさとは逆に、3Genコピー、またはそれ以上のコピーを繰り返した音源が使用されていた為、音質の悪さでも有名な音源でした。(元々極めて安いステレオカセットレコーダーとマイクで録音された為にマスター自体がかなり歪んだ音質だったようです)90年代Bootlegでは曲中のカットがかなり多いものでしたが、2005年頃に流通し始めた2Gen(?)Casetteでは収録内容も改善されて、ほぼノーカットになってきました。本盤では、可能な限り音源履歴が正確で尚且つ音質的にも優れているとされる、カセットマスターからリールにコピーされたBill B.所有の1Genリール(この時にImmigrant Songの最初の部分がテープトラブルでカットされる)を使用した2GenCassetteを今年になって初めてデジタル化した最もLow-genと言われてる音源が使われているため元々の音質が音質なだけに既発との飛躍的な違いはないものの、明らかにナチュラルで分離感の素晴らしいサウンドになっています。(これらとは別に1Genカセット(本当かは怪しい・・・)を使用したというインフォでの音源も流通する様になり、音源履歴として何が一番良いのか、何が正確なのかがファンサイトで討論される事もありました)まさに、72年USツアーの名演中の名演といえる壮絶なシアトル公演を過去最高のサウンドで理想的にパッケージしたファン必携のアイテムが、限定プレスCDにてリリース決定です。

1972年6月18日、19日のシアトル・センター・コロシアムにおける2公演を収録している。前者は音質が、後者は内容がそれぞれ際立っており、しかも今回は今年の4月初旬と3月中旬にネット上に出回った最新かつ最良のものが基になっているものと思われ、どちらも非常に優れた仕上がりとなっている。前者は1975年の同会場2公演から残されている高音質不完全版モノラル音源と同一人物による録音で、同じような素晴らしい音質で捕らえられているが、奇しくもやはり不完全モノラル収録であることが誠に惜しい。1975年の時は会場に向かう途中で交通事故に遭遇してしまったことと、想定外の長いコンサートとなってしまったことが原因だったらしいが、この1972年は録音機(タンバーグ製オープン・リール・デッキ)のセッティング・ミスが原因だったそうだ。しかしながら「LA Drone」から捕らえられていることは特筆もので、「Immigrant Song」が「LA Drone」とクロスフェードせずに何ともぎこちなく始まる様子までもが味わえるのが良い。一方、後者の音質は相変わらず褒められたものではないが、3本のマクセルUD90に残されている2ndジェネレーションのカセット・テープがマスターとなっていて、無理矢理イコライジングでシャープさを出したような音ではなく、良い意味でアナログ的で深みが備わった音質となっている。音が歪んでいる分だけジョン・ポール・ジョーンズのグルーヴが感じられるのも特長だろう。何より音質云々を超越して内容が圧巻であり、ハイトーン・ヴォイスによる「Black Country Woman」のフル・ヴァージョンや、「Whole Lotta Love Medley」で飛び出す「Only The Lonely」など、レア・ソングも満載だ。このツアーにて頻繁にアンコールで演奏されている「Communication Breakdown」と「Bring It On Home」が収録されていないので、この日も最後に収録されている「Dancing Days」以降に演奏されたものと考えてみると、尚更凄いステージだったことが窺えるだろう。因みにWikipediaによると、この会場は1994年から1995年にかけて建て替えられて、それ以降の正式名称はKeyArenaというそうだ。プレス盤。
