今となってはかなり異色だったと思われるアルバム「アースリング」時のツアーである1997年10月10日アトランタ公演を、極上のオーディエンス録音ソースを元に収録した究極のタイトルが登場。DAT録音だと推測されるが、見事なまでの音圧並びに迫力は他のブートレグとは圧倒的な差があり、正に会場内に参加して目の前でライブを見ているような錯覚を起こすくらいの代物だ。オープニングから最後まで掛け値なしに楽しめる素晴らしい音質。また、ボウイの側もツアーがこなれまくっているので、演奏は当然言う必要もないくらいに最高峰で、ボウイもかなり好調のようだ。なんと云ってもバック演奏付きの「My Death」は異常に新鮮に聞こえ、その旋律の良さに改めて感動できることは間違いない。今となっては懐かしい「The Man Who Sold The World」のアレンジも忘れてはならない一曲だろう。『アウトサイド』『アースリング』と立て続けにリリースしたツアーの割には既に演奏されている楽曲は減ってきているのも、秀逸な楽曲が多すぎる悩みなのだろうが、アンコール前を締める「リトル・ワンダー」はやはり斬新なセンス。10月8日のライブでは過去最長のスーパーロングセットリストでこのツアー時に持っていた楽曲全てを演奏していたためか、この日はアンコール後も少なく「O Superman」「All The Young Dudes」なども演奏されず仕舞だったのが残念。できれば8日のショウの完全版などがリリースされると嬉しいところだが、10日のショウとしてこれ以上は望めないタイトルであることに変わりはない。是非聴いてみてもらいたいクオリティだ。
