Speaking of RAINBOW ‘s 1976’ RISING ‘tour, there are a lot of legendary live shows in Japan’ s performance. However, three months ago prior to the Japan tour, even the first British tour for the band, a wonderful great performance has been spreading. It was a highlight of the British tour on London ‘s “Hammer Smith Odeon” performance which was held for two consecutive days on September 7th and 8th. Especially in the UK, live at the venue with tradition and formality should have been as special as the Budokan performances for the band. In this work “RISING POWER U.K.”, you can listen to all of the recordings that were recorded on the tape with master quality at this Hammersmith performance for 2 days!

Version on September 7 on the first day to Disks 1 and 2, directly recorded from the “TDK-C90” master cassette provided by the recording person. In the past, the live itself has been converted into a sound system as “LONDON 1976” from the Langley label, but this work is the first time to make press CD.
There was a cut in the second half of “Catch The Rainbow” hitting the tape change part (around 14:05), and unfortunately the recording ended with “Still I’m Sad” (reprint part) after Koji’s drum solo was over I will. However, the sound image is stable, and the Richie guitar, Ronnie vocal and Koji’s drums are all recorded with surprisingly clear and direct feeling sounds, and the powerful live concert of “Mikoto Triune” RAINBOW Reproduced with an ideal sound image. As for the cassette recording of overseas at that time, the perspective and separation feeling can be said to be the highest level you can hope for.
The performance is ‘RAINBOW’ in ’76, so even if the band of Konju stands upright as it is, it shows a wonderful playability that is not enemy, but this day I can see solidity in Richie’s play. Whether it became nervous due to the first appearance of “Hammer Smith · Odeon” led by his own leader band, was it irritated by the mass media and the London performances many stakeholders visited from “Enter The Over The Rainbow” The timing does not match, and around 9:06 when the solo of “Mistreated” is caught, I will make out mistakes that I do not hear much.
But Ronnie and Cozy showed a brave play with support of Ritchie. Cozy ‘s play in “Mistreated” is coloring, plenty of Okazu, also good at it, already impressive. Ronnie is a heavy and singing singing song, from “Kill The King” I will push the view of RAINBOW world throughout the venue. Especially the vocals in “Catch The Rainbow” is a masterpiece, everyone should be overwhelmed by God-honored persuasive power! After receiving the backup of the member, Ritchie can hear that it gradually regains its pace in the relaxed solo of the same song. “Man On The Silver Mountain” and “Stargazer” which comes to the latter half of the second half also escaped Ritchie’s solidness, and the usual band likeness is fully opened. Long solo nearly 7 minutes with “Stargazer” making full use of slide guitar is already a masterpiece. I assure Richie’s dramatic play is the best listening place on this day!
Ritchie ‘s sharp rifle, solo and drumming of cozy are also impressive “Still I’m Sad” also overwhelming the audience of London. Todome explodes with just Koji ‘s drum solow “Let me see things in the eyes”! Recording is finished with this “Still I’m Sad”, but it seems that encore has not been done on this day, and this recording is thought to be the whole picture of the show.

On September 8th, the 2nd day on Discs 3 and 4, I recorded the show as a sound convincing master quality (this day is a member of QUEEN, John Road, Ian Pace, Roger Grover and others came to see).
Although this tone generator had already existed using master of subordinate generation long before, there is incomplete version there, and cloudy tone quality repeating copying was also one now. Although it is a sound image which gives one step compared with the previous day (7th), this work recorded with brightness and resolution which is not comparable with the already departed is definitely declared the definitive version of the same day.
Recording “Over The Rainbow” has not been recorded and started from “Kill The King”. Richie’s performance is an excellent performance that seems to be good as soon as listening. “Mistreated” for 18 minutes is also wonderful, and the play which is supplementary to the day before when there were many mistakes is spectacular. Of course Ronnie and Cozy continued to be top form from the day before. This day we will follow Richie and “Sixteenth Century Greensleeves” will also listen to great performance. The 16-minute “Catch The Rainbow” is a white eyebrow even in this recording. In the delicate first half, the performance was slowly and calmly performed, and the second half of the turbulence has become a masterpiece that maintained the tension of the peak until the last. Richie’s play makes this audiences fascinating by spontaneous play that flows even with this “Catch The Rainbow” and “Blues” in the “Man On The Silver Mountain” medley. “Stargazer” which was effective with control also produces a peak of the live with a high perfection performance as before the day before.
Speedy ‘Still I’m Sad’ which starts without getting haircut is a masterpiece that the band’s five people together became. I conclude with a splendid ending as if symbolizing the strong performance of the day.
“You do not listen to the last day” Do You Close Your Eyes “explodes! It seems to me that Ritchie is responding to enthusiastic audience with gaudy action (It is regrettable that recording ends in 6 minutes.)
In case
Both discs 1 and 2 that contained valuable documents on the first day in high-quality sounds, discs 3 and 4 that made the sound of the second day’s masterpieces with content that surpasses the previous episodes are absolutely essential for RAINBOW fans. This work which confirmed the record of London 2 Days with master quality and press CD in the same year is a fulfilling 4 set which I want to add to the collection along with the same year’s sound source!

録音は「Over The Rainbow」が未収録で、「Kill The King」からのスタート。
ラストは前日に聴けなかった「Do You Close Your Eyes」が炸裂!
