New York May 17, 1973, and the Albany concert, the last day of May 19, Connecticut of North America First leg is recorded performances in Waterbury in the stereo sound board recording. On both days, with superb sound, you can taste the threat of performance that weaves of five plenty. While endlessly subsequently had tour from 72 January fall is also true this time to have people paragraph (here also overcrowded schedule is a limit?), In the May 2, Santana album “Welcome” (73 November participation in the McLaughlin to the recording of Santana and McLaughlin co-operation Flame Sky to release) is recording, Cobham, 14, 15, recording of the 16 days of the first album at Electric Lady Studios in New York for three days, “Spectrum” (of course and Jan Hammer also participate), other than Mahavishunu, members respectively of the project, in terms of the solo activity has been noticeable anyway (McLaughlin eyes, are beginning to get bored to soon this organization?), or the centripetal force of the band had begun to wane , London June 25-29 days as Mahavishunu the 3rd album, which was produced at the Trident Studios (released as “the Lost Trident Sessions” in 99 years) has been or become shelved. Of course, during this time, 7 days Stuttgart performances, 8 days Frankfurt show, 10 days, 13 days in Paris performances and live was held tightly. Also ensemble, although we are slightly starting to see the rose, the number of each of runaway Gimi inter-play, reverse and exudes a special feeling of tension, frightening to the terrible (water addition to the usual technical ones Vital of Barry performances Transformation has become transcendence ensemble must listen !!) is applied. You Know You Know to listen in (Unfortunately in and fade-out at 2:53), and the like, beautifully overwhelming power of expression twist intonation (beautiful arpeggios played by McLaughlin, cymbal work of Cobham, Hummer sense preeminent obbligato) is also still nice of, would would have been anyway overwhelmed definitely a number of ultra-play, also said that the perfection of improvisation! Places each is too * Charges ahead *, is a place where even in this period interesting sound pressure of the band becomes thinner. Just super item that was luxury package in the first phase Mahavishunu history, there is a high sense of the most tension time realism preeminent superb sound quality! I would say a valuable release unbearable to the fans!

★ is a review summary of beatleg magazine vol.95 (No. 6, 2008). In case you’re wondering.

From 1973 of the first-time North American tours, tour the last day (Lowell performances of May 25, 2009) recorded Waterbury performances of Albany performances and 19 days of May 17 days of the previous. Although both performances very good sound board sound source is being used, it will be a sound source from the “Wolfgang’s Vault” of both Bill Graham. February from this North American tour, March, and with this time of May, the title using the Bill Graham sound source has been released in a time series. Listening through, this May of performances, it will be able to say the best of the first-time North American tour. Why if, start the tour from January, up to the Albany performance and Waterbury performance was recorded in the board, has been carried out almost every day of the 64 performances, meanwhile, arrangement of music is faster to evolve on a daily basis , but although the band ensemble is to become a strong, ego of members collide in the solo part, because enjoy sadistic performance. Disbanded the Mahavishnu have this year, there are no do not know the feeling of John McLaughlin fled to Shakti (but Shakti is also considerably great). It should be noted that It is an extra, in Albany performances, “You Know, You Know” and “The Dance Of Maya” is what was played in the medley, are divided in relation to the tape change. It must-have board.

You Know You Know(残念な事に2:53でフェード・アウトします)等で聴けるように、見事に抑揚を効かせた圧倒的な表現力(マクラフリンの奏でる美しいアルペジオ、コブハムのシンバル・ワーク、ハマーのセンス抜群のオブリガード)も相変わらず素晴らしく、とにかく即興の極致ともいえるウルトラ・プレイの数々には間違いなく圧倒されてしまうでしょう!
