Introducing a enthusiast-focused title that couples two precious sound board sound sources from the early Saxons with the latest professional shot footage. Disc 1 contains a 48-minute stereo line recording of a derby performance from the “Strong Arm Of The Law” UK tour held in December 1980. It was a local FM song that was broadcast at the time, and it was the first very rare high-quality live take to be made into a vinyl record. You can enjoy the vivid performance of early Saxons with sound board recording with a realistic and direct texture. Disc 2 contains a 74-minute ultra-high-quality stereo soundboard recording of the London Hammersmith Odeon performances that took place on October 24th and 25th from the 1981 “Denim And Leather” tour. This is an upgraded version of the sound source released by Langley in the past. It’s one of the takes I recorded for the official live “The Eagle Has Landed” and the sound is almost perfect. Vocals have been turned off at the beginning of And The Bands Played On due to a technical mistake, but the output is perfect from around 1:30. You can enjoy all the sound parts with the clearest sound image, including the guitar that is perfectly separated from LR and stereo. Although the sound quality is good, it has been upgraded in all respects compared to the existing board, which had a slightly sober impression. The noise is also clearly reduced. Not only the numbers leaked from the official plate, but also the actual live song order, you can enjoy the performance at the peak with a powerful clear sound. (Since the date was written on the master tape for 2 days, it is also written as such on this board, but since it is recorded without cutting and there is no change in the overall texture, both days I think it’s one of those stages.) Disc 3 contains the latest professional shot footage of Saxon, who still reigns as one of the best heavy metal bands in the world in 2009. On July 14, 2008, Switzerland recorded the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival for 47 minutes with super high-quality professional shot video from the TV broadcast master. Not only the performance but also the image quality and sound are super excellent, and it is definitely the best video title that fans must see and must have. It is one of the highly recommended pieces that couples old and new high-grade sound sources and images.
★ This is a review summary of beatleg magazine vol.106 (May 2009 issue). For your reference.
CD-R & DVD-R released sound sources and videos that fans who love the heyday of SAXON in the early 80’s would not love. First of all, Disc-1 recorded the stage in Derby, which is said to have been recorded and broadcast by a local FM station, on a sound board from the UK tour accompanying the promotion of the album “STRONG ARM OF THE LAW” in December 1980. .. The sound quality is a little lacking in clarity and it is not a complete recording, but you can enjoy the best performance of the band riding the updraft. The first song “Heavy Metal Thunder” is a fade-in, but it can be said that it is a stage without abandoned songs such as the title song of “STRONG ARM OF THE LAW”, “20,000 feet” and the famous song “747 (Strangers In The Night”). right.
Disc-2 contains an upgraded version of the same sound source as “THE EAGLE HAS LANDED COMPLETE” (LANGLEY). The stage of October 24th or 25th, 1981 recorded for the official live album “THE EAGLE HAS LANDED” is recorded with the highest sound quality stereo sound board recording, and it is the official live album. It’s too nice to call it a back version. The stage starts with “And The Bands Played On” from the opening S.E., and after the song, “Princess Of The Night” is played without a break, which is the royal road of SAXON. The first performance in Japan was held in May of this year, and I’m glad that the performance and set list are more complete.
The DVD-R of Disc-3 recorded the stage at “MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL” held in Switzerland on July 14, 2008 from the master who recorded the TV broadcast. Of course, you can enjoy the latest stage with the best image quality and sound quality, but you still want to pay tribute to the majestic frontman Biff. The tempo of the famous songs of the 80’s is slightly slow, probably because of the passage of time, but you can still enjoy the awesomeness of active SAXON until the last “Wheels Of Steel”.
Fans will enjoy it as a set of heyday sounds and the latest footage.
から「And The Bands Played On」でスタートし、曲後、間髪を入れずに「Princess Of The Night」をプレイするSAXONの王道とも言える疾走感溢れるステージング。
