A special concert inviting gorgeous guests has been revived with the highest quality ever. “October 10, 1992 Mountain View Performance” is included in this work. A professional shot at the benefit concert “ALL OUR COLORS” for Native Americans. Based on SANTANA, Carlos’ younger brother Jorge Santana, Ry Cooder, and Steve Miller are participating in this show.
It has been a popular video for a long time because you can watch a gorgeous co-star with a professional shot, but this work is the highest peak version that appeared in recent years, produced by overseas core enthusiasts. The original video is digitized directly from the 1st Gene video, and it is the decisive board that covers it with another superb sound board sound.
The quality is exactly the highest ever. It must be an analog video shoot of the times, but the dimension is different from what you imagine in the so-called “video wakeup”. The amazing freshness of the 1st Gene is brought out without leaking to the maximum, and its beautiful screen is as if it was awakened from a laser disc. I don’t think it was 25 years ago, and even if you look at it with the eyes of 2017, when it’s digital, it’s an official-grade visual beauty. So is the sound from another soundboard master. It’s not “official” because there is a little noise in the first few songs, but the resolution far surpasses the existing ones. The sound directly connected to the table hits the brain miso directly.
The splendor of incandescent Latin rock drawn with that quality! SANTANA has always been listening to artistic performances, but on this day, the interplay will heat up forever, with enough motivation to face a special stage. Carlos’s tone dances brilliantly and is full of singing spirit as if it was composed by improvisation. The percussion group that reacts to it is also intensely colorful. There is no waste in the fact that each person improvises a ferocious number of strokes. All notes are intertwined and fully functional, as if the seemingly messy capillaries move the human body precisely. That will raise the heat and heat. SANTANA alone is such an enthusiastic performance, but this work is not so much. You can even watch the co-starring of the luxurious guests mentioned above. First up is Ry Cooder. Ry Cooder does not retract, and the sounds of the three parties are entwined until the end.
The gorgeous thing of the scene. The two guests are a little confused by the iron-walled ensemble (SANTANA, it’s too amazing: lol), but as soon as they become a free part, they grab the groove and scatter phrases with plenty of individuality. The open session, which is different from the perfect match ensemble of flames that took place in the first half of the show, is really fun. 豪華ゲストを招いたスペシャル・コンサートが史上最高峰クオリティで蘇りました。本作に収められているのは「1992年10月10日マウンテンビュー公演」。ネイティヴ・アメリカンのためのベネフィット・コンサート“ALL OUR COLORS”でのプロショット。このショウでは、SANTANAを基本としてカルロスの実弟ホルヘ・サンタナやライ・クーダー、さらにスティーヴ・ミラーが参加しています。
豪華共演をプロショットで観られるとあって、従来から人気の映像なのですが、本作は海外のコアマニアが制作し、近年になって登場した最高峰バージョン。大元の映像は1stジェネのビデオからダイレクトにデジタル化されており、そこに別の極上サウンドボード音声を被せている決定盤なのです。
そのクオリティは、まさに過去最高。時代柄アナログのビデオ撮影には違いないのですが、いわゆる“ビデオ起こし”でイメージするものとは次元が違う。1stジェネの驚異的な鮮度が最大漏らさず引き出され、その美しい画面はまるでレーザーディスクから起こされたかのよう。とても25年前とは思えず、デジタル全盛の2017年の眼で観てもオフィシャル級の映像美です。わざわざ別のサウンドボード・マスターから音声もまた然り。こちらには冒頭数曲でわずかにノイズもあるので「公式級」とは言えないのですが、既発を遙かに凌駕する解像度。卓直結サウンドが脳ミソを直撃するのです。
そのクオリティで描かれる白熱のラテン・ロックの素晴らしさ！　常に術らしい演奏を聴かせ続けてきたSANTANAですが、この日は特別なステージに臨む気迫も十分に、インタープレイがどこまでも加熱していく。カルロスのトーンはどこまでも艶やかに踊りつつ、インプロでも作曲されていたかのように歌心たっぷり。それに反応するパーカッション群も強烈にカラフル。１人ひとりが猛烈な打数を、それも即興的に叩き出しているというのにムダがない。一見乱雑のような毛細血管が精密に人体を動かしているように、すべてのノートが絡み合って完全に機能。それがグイグイと熱気を引き上げていくのです。もう、１曲１曲で手がグーになってしまって書き進めない……。
SANTANAだけでもそれだけの熱演ですが、本作はそれどころではない。先述した豪華ゲストの共演まで観られるのです。まず登場するのはライ・クーダー。ジョン・リー・フッカーのカバー「The Healer」の冒頭でカルロスに紹介されて登場。挨拶もなく、あの味わい深いギターをつま弾き出す。そのフレーズに対し、カルロスも時にギターで応え、時に讃えるようにギロをかき鳴らす。さらに続く「All Your Love」ではスティーヴ・ミラーも登場。ライ・クーダーも引っ込まず、そのままラストまで三者三様の音色を絡ませていくのです。
その光景の豪華なこと。ゲストの２人は鉄壁のアンサンブルにやや戸惑い気味（SANTANA、凄すぎです：笑）でもあるのですが、それでもフリーパートになるやグルーヴを掴んで個性たっぷりのフレーズをまき散らす。ショウ前半に繰り広げられた炎の完全一致アンサンブルとはまた違う、開放的なセッションがまたなんとも楽しい。伝説的な３人がギターで会話していく贅沢な時間をたっぷりと楽しめるのです。
