Rolling Stones Of last year’s “NO FILTER” tour, it was a new place to remember that a performance with no sound source and no items was released on the “LANDOVER 2019” limited press CD, but this time in New Jersey ( We will release the two days at once. However, unlike Landover, as you know, NJ sound source has already released items. Although it was a rare sound source on the net unusually nowadays, it was a very excellent audience recording on both days, so we will apply our own equalization and join the 2019 series of our shop.
First day, audience recording of really good sound even if you listen again. The secret of the charm is that there is no surrounding noise that is common in the Stones Show in the United States, and the performance was captured with a very on balance. Therefore, in this release, we relaxed the mid-range reverberations that are common in large venues such as MetLife Stadium. The reverberations that occur in these venues generally blur the outline of the performance, but the equalization that alleviates it has made the outline of the performance clearer.
Because the original recording itself is a very high level audience, it is different if there is a dramatic upper feeling. However, it is in a state where the audibility has increased by polishing the sound source with excellent features. The 2019 series released in our shop basically requires quality enough for limited press CDs, but this NJ2 performance will definitely be a quality that can be heard safely from beginners to mania.

And it has been more than six months since the performance, but it’s a great performance even if you ask again. It was a day that was highly praised by enthusiasts who actually witnessed the show on the day, and it is arguably one of the best three levels on last year’s tour. In the opening two songs, especially “Let’s Spend The Night Together”, there are places where Charlie is wondering what rhythm to hit, but such instability has been wiped out from “Tumbling Dice”. “Tumbling Dice” has an octopus repertoire even if you’re not a mania, but it’s a reminder that playing the song in the early stages always triggers the band to catch up.
Actually, this song will be followed by a performance appropriate to be called the NJ’s first day medley. After all, “She’s A Rainbow” is the first day voting song. The performance that makes full use of the light and pop atmosphere of the song is probably the best live take without any value even in the last few years. It is no surprise that the performance of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” gets hot in such good times.

“Sweet Virginia” performed on stage B is also remarkable as if the atmosphere of 1972, when the item was released last week, was revived. The beginning of the following “ Dead Flowers ” will be Mick’s miracle odd time singing as it was already told by mania, but he wandered at the slapstick here or Keith’s “ Slipping Away ” However, the great thing about this day is that the whole band does not shake at all.
The surprising moment was a moment when Chuck Revere gave off a tone suggesting the start of “Miss You” despite the fact that Keith’s repertoire still remained.
And “Paint It Black” is a bit slower, but still not at the level of a Landover-like chill. Rather, the breathtaking momentum and strength after “Midnight Rambler” were the highlight. It is true that the slapsticks that are common in Stones in recent years are scattered here, but more than that, morale performances throughout make up for it. Audience album that captured this famous performance with excellent sound quality. The liveliness of the fireworks that are sounded after the performance is also in this sound source. Please enjoy this day’s fulfillment from last year in the 2019 series familiar to mania to the fullest!

ローリング・ストーンズ昨年の「NO FILTER」ツアーの内、なかなか音源が出てこなくてアイテムのない公演が「LANDOVER 2019」限定プレスCDにてリリースされたのは記憶に新しいところですが、今回はニュージャージー（以下NJと称します）二日間を一挙にリリースいたします。とはいえランドーバーと違いNJ音源は既にアイテムがリリースされているのも承知の通り。今どき珍しくネット上でひっそりと出回っていた音源でしたが、両日とも音質の非常に優れたオーディエンス録音であったことから、独自のイコライズをほどこして当店の2019シリーズに仲間入りを果たします。
まず初日ですが、改めて聞いても本当にイイ音のオーディエンス録音。アメリカのストーンズ・ショーにありがちな周囲の騒がしさが皆無であり、なおかつ演奏を非常にオンなバランスで捉えてくれていたのが魅力の秘訣。そこで今回のリリースに当たっては、メットライフ・スタジアムという大会場にありがちな中域の響く箇所を緩和。こうした会場で生じる反響音は概して演奏の輪郭をぼやけさせるものですが、それを緩和させるイコライズを施したことによって、演奏の輪郭がよりはっきりと浮かび上がりました。
もっとも元の録音自体が非常にレベルの高いオーディエンスですので、劇的なアッパー感があるかといえば、それは違うのですが。しかし素性の優れた音源を磨き上げたことで聞きやすさが増した状態となっています。当店リリースの2019シリーズは基本的に限定プレスCDに足るクオリティが必須条件なのですが、今回のNJ二公演に関しては、間違いなく初心者からマニアまで安心して聞き込めるクオリティでしょう。

そして公演から早くも半年以上が経過していますが、改めて聞いてみても相当に名演。実際に当日のショーを目撃されたマニアからも激賞された一日であり、間違いなく昨年のツアーではベスト3に入るレベルかと。オープニングの2曲、中でも「Let’s Spend The Night Together」ではチャーリーがどのリズムで叩くべきか迷っているかのような個所がありますが、そうした不安定さも「Tumbling Dice」から一掃。マニアでなくとも耳タコ・レパートリーな感のある「Tumbling Dice」ですが、こうした曲を序盤で必ず演奏することでバンドが調子を掴むきっかけになっているのだと痛感させられます。
実際にこの曲の後はNJ初日の名演メドレーと呼ぶに相応しい演奏が続きます。何と言っても初日の投票ソングである「She’s A Rainbow」。同曲の持つ軽快でポップな雰囲気を活かしきった演奏はここ数年演奏された中でも掛け値なしにベストのライブテイクではないか。こうした好調時に「You Can’t Always Get What You Want」の演奏が白熱するのも当然。

さらにBステージで演奏された「Sweet Virginia」は先週アイテムがリリースされた1972年の雰囲気が蘇ったかのような出来映えもお見事。続く「Dead Flowers」の序盤がミックのミラクル変拍子シンギングとなってしまうのは既にマニアが伝えてくれていた通りなのですが、ここでのドタバタ、あるいはキースの「Slipping Away」で彼がふらついたとしても、バンド全体がちっとも揺るがないのがこの日の素晴らしいところ。
意外なハプニングとしては、まだキースのレパートリーが一曲残っているにもかかわらず、チャック・リヴェールが「Miss You」の開始をほのめかすような音色を鳴らしてしまっている一瞬が微笑ましい場面でした。
そして「Paint It Black」は少しテンポが遅いのですが、それでもランドーバーのようなヒヤヒヤさせられるレベルではない。むしろそこで一息つけたのか、「Midnight Rambler」以降の怒涛のような勢いと力強さも圧巻。近年のストーンズにありがちなドタバタ感がここでも散見されるのは事実ですが、それ以上に全体を通して士気の高い演奏がそれを補ってあまりある。この名演を素晴らしい音質で捉えてくれたオーディエンス・アルバム。終演後に鳴らされる花火の生々しさも本音源はらでは。そうしたこの日の充実ぶりを昨年からマニアにはおなじみ2019シリーズにて心ゆくまで味わってください！
