New Year’s Eve “69RSTRAX” included not only studio recordings, but also many sources from the 1969 US tour. Of course, enthusiasts had high expectations for them, but Auckland used conventional audience recordings as they were and used them. Well, I thought that the live sound source was not a big deal for the 69RSTRAX, which became a big uproar … I thought, and there was a ridiculous hidden ball unique to the official liver.
Speaking of the main recording of the live album “GET YER YA-YA’S OUT” released inspired by the famous album “Liver” that recorded Auckland earlier, three performances at Madison Square Garden. The second show on November 27 and 28 was not as good as the “rivers”, but had a sufficiently good audience recording, and conveyed the splendor of each stage. Indeed, there were just recordings for live albums.
If so, these three stages have confirmed the existence of the sound source by multi-track recording, and its appearance would have been an infinite dream for manias around the world. It was also the starting point of the legend of Stones, saying, “When it comes to recording, it gets lively” or “When it comes to big cities, it gets excited.”

6969RSTRAX finally fulfilled that dream. And all three stages at once! The live recordings that appeared this time, but on the 27th, the multitrack recorded for “GET YER YA-YA’S OUT” (hereinafter “GYYYO”) was mixed before being mixed into stereo. Appeared in monaural. The fact that “GYYYO” had few take-offs from this day onward suggests that it appeared in such a state. However, the sound that was heard at the opening of “GYYYO” from the sound that started recording and cut in first.
Therefore, although it is monaural, the details of the performance are not too direct compared to the so-called PA-out desk-connected sound board, and the balance is much better. Above all, the sense of presence is transmitted. Speaking of the sound board directly connected to the tour in 1969, “OAKLAND SIXTY-NINE” sound source can be mentioned, but the difference is obvious when compared with it. Rather, when uploaded to “69RSTRAX”, the sound of the compressed sound source shattered the sound of Charlie’s cymbals and it was a flaw. Still, it’s still a very good soundboard recording.

It is a show on the 27th, but in the audience recording that I mentioned earlier, the height of the outstanding voltage was outstanding. It will be more vivid when you hear it again in this sound board experience. In particular, “ Carol ” has a tremendous performance momentum centered on Charlie’s drums, and in the next “ Sympathy For The Devil ”, unlike the first half of the tour, Keith and Mick Taylor each arranged a guitar solo, and both of them Goosebumps stand out when you play a phrase that blows fire.
The opening of “GYYYO”, “Jumping Jack Flash” is the take of the day, but here you can hear the original singing before Mick replaced the vocals. Audience recording had already proved that his song was completely different, but it’s special to hear the original vocals on the soundboard. Above all, Keith isn’t playing (laughs).

“ Under My Thumb ” adopted for the 40th anniversary edition of “ GYYYO ” released just 10 years ago, but if you ask this way, the volume of the building’s bass in the intro has become quite loud It is interesting to understand This is something that is unique before mixing. When the song was switched to “I’m Free” when it was released on “69RSTRAX”, there was a slight cut, so we patched the 40th anniversary edition into a mono.
Speaking of cuts, there is a bigger gap between songs before the start of “Midnight Rambler”, but it is clear that it is a change of multitrack tape (Leds 71 also had a similar cut) . So we patched the audience recordings of the same day for completeness.
On the other hand, thanks to the sound board, the Midnight Rambler was a bit less organized than the take of the next day that was adopted for GYYYO. However, the performance is not drooped in the 69 tour. After this, Stones explodes again with “Live With Me” and “Satisfaction” around Charlie.
The sound of the Stones can be heard through the sound board. After all, the day when you can listen to the stage of the first day of MSG, which was a famous performance during the tour on the tour in 1969, with the full-length sound board has finally arrived. Dream Come True for mania all over the world!

Dream Come True!
