The “VOODOO LOUNGE” tour that makes me feel nostalgic now. Even in 1994, which was the first year, we were blessed with sound sources and images, and it can be said that it is a result of Stones himself focusing on promoting albums and tours. Still, it is a new memory that “TAMPA 1994”, which is a multitrack recording of a precious time, was reissued, but while Tampa was in the latter half of the tour in 1994, this time it is a famous multitrack recording at the beginning of the tour. Will recur.
The August 14th New Jersey concert saw live video on radio and in several ways the light of day, with the dilemma that while they were excellent in image quality and sound quality, they were all far from full live recording. I was holding it. On the other hand, it is said that the full-length version of the multitrack recording on this day will be leaked in the rear tie, so you can enjoy the whole live performance on the stereo sound board even though the sound quality is rough.
That is the nostalgic VGP board “BITE THE BIG APPLE”, and the enthusiasts thankfully listened to it because of its preciousness that more than compensated for its sound quality. However, it was a fact that it made me think that the sound quality should be a little better, and it was the 2008 masterpiece “GIANTS STADIUM 1994” that made such a wish come true after more than 10 years. An overwhelming upper feeling realized by independently obtaining a cassette master that has leaked from related parties that is not on the net or among traders at all. It’s been a long time since it became a sold out, not to mention the best-selling record. Almost 15 years have passed since then, and the release of a new title has been eagerly awaited.

If “TAMPA 1994” in the latter half of the tour reoccurs, this is the perfect time for “GIANTS STADIUM 1994” to be reborn. That said, the master cassette was originally a rough mix of multitrack recording due to the outflow of people involved. There is no need to equalize for that, and the only major improvement is that Graf Zeppelin, who was in charge of supervising the sound source, brought Mick’s vocal localization to the center. Therefore, if you listen with headphones, I wonder if you can enjoy the sophisticated live album-like finish by relocating Mick to the center.
By the way, from the end of the set change SE, which is the only defect of this sound source, to the intro of “Love Is Strong”, this time as well, the audience recording on the same day is supplemented.
The feature of this sound source was that the presence of Ronnie’s guitar was weakened due to the rough mix, but Keith’s presence was enormous, and ironically, the uniqueness of the balance became popular again. That was the secret. And because it’s multitrack recording, the sound quality itself is the clearest. The outline of each instrument is also wonderful. Even so, the cheers are firmly captured, and the presence is perfect. If this happens, you can be assured that you will be able to enjoy it as if it were a normal live album.

After all, the sound quality is very good, so how was the Stones at the beginning of the “VOODOO LOUNGE” tour? I understand that I can pick it up. Since the number of performances is still 5 on the 14th day of the tour, the momentum of the performance is clearly insufficient compared to Tampa at the end of the tour. It’s noticeable from the opening to “Shattered” or around “Miss You”, and it’s also smiling.
If you think about it, “Rocks Off” suddenly revives the ruggedness of the Stones, or when it comes to the single-cut “Love Is Strong”, you can hear a very energetic performance, which is common in the Stones at the beginning of the tour. You can clearly see how uneven the performance is.
And “I Can’t Get Next To You” which was the cover of The Temptations and the biggest rare repertoire at the beginning of the tour. It was the first of the “R & B cover” (bitter smile) that Stones occasionally tried after 1994, but the performance centered on Mick was wonderful enough, so much. The charm that you can enjoy with the best sound quality has not faded at all. The long-awaited re-appearance of the famous multitrack recording at the beginning of the “VOODOO LOUNGE” tour on a limited press CD!
