The LA Forum in July, the heyday of the Rolling Stones 1975 tour. The beginning was July 9th. On this day, Mike Millard is famous for recording an audience with excellent sound quality, and the release of the master is awaited. There was also the LP “SMOKING STONES” that conveyed the wonderfulness of the performance of the day in the rear tie. Although it is not as good as mirrored recording, the quiet and clear sound quality is still easy to hear, and 10 years ago, a CD version reprinted from the same LP was released. However, new audience recordings other than these sources appeared early in the new year.
The new sound source this time is the upper version sound source of “SURREY REHEARSALS 1968” which became Sold Out while it was very popular, and it was released by “Waz From Oz Archives” which made enthusiasts all over the world say. A tape box was also released at the same time this time, and unfortunately “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” as the proviso “Don’t ask why the first half of the live was recorded … haha” is released. Incomplete recording from the middle of. I wonder if that point is a flaw in the ball.
However, even if it does not reach the range of mirrored recording, the sound image is closer than “SMOKING STONES”, and it is recorded in stereo, so the listening response is sufficient. Until the end of the live, I didn’t pick up the surrounding sounds so much, and it was surprisingly easy to hear for an audience recording that had been sleeping for nearly 50 years. Compared to “SMOKING STONES”, which had a very clear sound quality even when the sound image was far away, it had an analog roughness of the 70’s, but it was still stereo and the closeness of the sound image was high. It is also a surprising attraction that the recording condition works well and you can listen to it quickly with one disc.

It is undeniable that the recording from the middle of the live is for maniacs, but thanks to this stereo, the runaway of the Stones of LA Forum 75 is transmitted to the extent that it is too real. In the first place, the series of LA Forum performances seems to have been incorporated into the best timing schedule of the 1975 tour, and the voltage of the performance on any day is extremely high. I was able to experience it even in the official release group such as the 12th and 13th, but since it is the first day of those series of performances, it is a tension of sharpness. If that is the middle of the live, the engine will be fully open.
While it was a time when high-tension and too wild masterpieces were mass-produced, “Midnight Rambler” was particularly outstanding in the performance of the day. Here, Keith first fanned the band, and Charlie & Cognos Brown’s rhythm section responded to it with a big runaway, running violently like a roller coaster. The bargaining between them and Keith, their slow and fast performances are also sharp, and “Midnight Rambler” in a series of LA performances is all really intense performances, but it is not an exaggeration to say that it is the top of the 15 minutes. Isn’t it the take of the day that reached?
And in this tour, “Sympathy For The Devil”, which seems to have become a “repertoire for encore limited to large venues”, has returned for the first time since the MSG continuous performance, but this performance is too intense again. Compared to the mirrored sound source and “SMOKING STONES”, this sound source captures the excitement of the surroundings at the end of the live with a sarcastic balance, so it feels like the venue that is enthusiastic about the 1975 Stones that descended to the LA Forum. Let me do it. However, when this song started, the excitement of the surroundings subsided. This shows that the forum audience was overwhelmed by the performance that was too intense.
In addition, Billy was crazy and hitting the piano keyboard, which further enlivened the enthusiasm of the performance. This scene was captured with a considerable balance even with the mirrored sound source, but this sound source also has a considerable presence … That means that it should have been ringing at a considerable volume at the venue on the day, and in such a situation Mick who screams as if to squeeze the last power is also terrible. It is this new sound source that conveys this spectacular performance and the atmosphere of the venue to other sound sources in a realistic manner. As expected, “Waz From Oz Archives”, the excavation of the shock that makes mania groan!
