昨年の「50 & Counting…」ツアー開始前にパリで行われたシークレット・ギグから、今年のグラストンベリーまでの約30公演から、レア・トラックスやゲスト参加のナンバーの数々をセレクトし、時系列で並べた55曲、全体収録時間 5時間12分に及ぶ一大コンピレーションがギフトタイトルで登場です。つい先日、ネットを介して発表された「50 & COUNTING TOUR 2012-2013 “Are Ya Feelin’ Good?”」を、適宜リマスターし、4枚組のディスクに収めました。勿論、それぞれが全く違った条件・機材で録音されたオーディエンス録音ゆえ、楽曲の音の質感・イメージは会場毎に異なります。元々、オリジナルの段階で、意図的にそれぞれ曲間は繋げてあり、一応、連続して聴けるような音処理はされていましたが、本盤ではトラックの切り替えポイントを、より高度な技術で修正。曲間部分の繋ぎの粗さをできるだけ緩和し、滑らかに聴けるようにすることで、連続して聞いた時の音のちぐはぐ感を軽減し、トータル的な音のイメージを損なわないように、音量や音のバランスも含めた調整を各トラック毎に行ってます。ネット上では製作者が4枚のディスクにコピーする際のトラック訳の指示を書いてくれてますが、その通りにディスク化すると、ディスク1からして、指示された15曲では80分を超えてしまいます。よって、全曲は収録されているものの、ディスクの内容（ディスク割）そのものは独自のものになっています。またディスク４の6月18日と21日のフィラデルフィア公演に関しては、ネット上オリジナルでは日付が逆転して収録されていましたが、正しい曲順で収録されています。世界中のストーンズ・ファンを大いに喜ばせ、エキサイトさせてくれた昨年11月から今年6月までの最新ツアーを、レアトラックスという視点から新たに総括するセットとして、マニアにとっては楽しくも、なかなか便利なタイトルと言えるでしょう。勿論、これがツアーのベストトラック集というわけではありませんし、これを聴けば最新ツアーのポイントが押さえられると言った内容では全然ありません。こういったものがはたしてコレクター必携かどうかは疑問であり、正直、全音源収集コレクターにはあまり意味が無い企画タイトルかもしれませんが、ファンならば聞いていて大いに楽しめること間違いありません。実際、ある意味単純に、各所で演奏されたゲスト参加曲、リクエスト曲などのレアナンバーを時系列に並べただけのものではあり、それ以上の意味は無かったりもするのですが、それでも作品として成立し、５時間飽きずに聴き通せてしまうのは、如何に、近年のストーンズのステージが華やかで楽しく、例えようもない程に魅力的であったからに他なりません。公式リリースされたハイドパーク音源は故意に収録されていませんが、ディスク4後半の、USツアーラストの超高音質ワシントン公演テイク、更にはグラストンベリーの、こちらもライン録音に負けていない魅力的な高音質オーディエンス録音テイクは、それぞれが実に素晴らしく、ラストを感動的に締めてくれます。特にAUDヴァージョンのグラストンベリーのSatisfactionは最高の一言で、これには誰もが「あれ？グラストのAUDってこんなに良かったっけ？」と思うであろう、実にナイスなトラックです。最新ツアーを懐かしむにはまだ早いのかもしれませんが、聴けば「こんなことあったな。こんな曲やったな。」と、最新ストーンズ音源と共に過ごした興奮・感動が鮮明に蘇ること間違いなしの楽しい４枚組と言えるでしょう。
