This time we will introduce the UK edition through the past darkly (Big Hits Vol.2) released in September 1969. Many of you may know, but as I introduced before, Big Hits (High Tide and Green Glass) is now on CD as well as Through the Past Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) is a US version, so this gift item will be a nice reprint. Since this album was released shortly after Brian’s death, it has been known for many years as a work with memorial meaning. In UK and US, it will be the second best board. As I explained earlier, the songs are different in the UK and US, and the order of the songs has changed greatly. The English version was recorded in You Better Move On and the American Edition Flowers, which were recorded and announced in EP in 1964 (basically there was no recording in the English version so far) Sitting on a A fence is recorded with a bit song. The disc used this time was not an open decker board with an octagonal deformed jacket, but a box decker board from the 70s with stable press conditions (a stereo board version). Isn’t it just this work or Big Hits (High Tide and Green Glass) that can be said to be the original best edition among the compilations of Stones released in the 1960s? 今回ご紹介するのは69年9月に発売された英国盤スルー・ザ・パスト・ダークリー (ビッグ・ヒッツ Vol.2)です。ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、以前ご紹介したかビッグ・ヒッツ (ハイ・タイド・アンド・グリーン・グラス)と同じく現在CD化されているスルー・ザ・パスト・ダークリー(ビッグ・ヒッツVol.2) は米国盤仕様のなので、今回のギフトアイテムは嬉しい復刻となるのではないでしょうか。このアルバムはブライアンの死後間も無く発売された為、追悼盤的な意味合いもある作品として長年にわたり知られてきました。また英米では2枚目のベスト盤となります。先程もご説明しましたが英米では収録曲は異なり曲順も大きく変更されています。英盤では64年にEPに収録され発表されたユー・ベター・ムープ・オンと米盤フラワーズに収録されていた（基本的に英盤にはこれまで収録がなかった）シッティン・オン・ア・フェンスがビット曲と共に収録されています。今回使用したディスクは八角形の変形ジャケット仕様のオープン・デッカ盤ではなく、プレス状態も安定している70年代のボックス・デッカ盤を使用いたしました（ステレオ盤仕様となります）。60年代に発売されたストーンズの数ある編集盤の中でもオリジナルベスト盤と言えるのは本作とかビッグ・ヒッツ (ハイ・タイド・アンド・グリーン・グラス)だけではないのてしょうか。そんなスルー・ザ・パスト・ダークリー (ビッグ・ヒッツ Vol.2)を英盤の音でお楽しみください。おすすめのギフトアイテムです！
