Roger Waters’ visit to Japan in 2002, where the originator’s FLOYD number echoed. Two titles will be released at the same time as the original recording that records the miracle tour that will probably be the last in Japan. Both of those two works are live albums from the Osaka performance, but this work is the first of them. It is the finest audience recording of “March 25, 2002: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall” performance.
At that time, Roger of PINK FLOYD number “IN THE FLESH” had a big reaction all over the world, and he also came to Japan as a solo artist. This work is a live album that recorded the first day of such Senjo Ichiyo Tour. What kind of position was such a monumental visit to Japan? First, let’s look back at the whole picture of the world tour.

This is 1999-2002 Roger Waters. Initially circuited in North America in two years, and after that, developed into a world tour. The performance in Japan was the beginning of the trip from the Southern Hemisphere to Asia. Speaking of March 2002, it’s been 30 years since PINK FLOYD’s second visit to Japan. Even as a monumental visit to Japan, we have archived all the performances in our masterpiece live album. Let’s check the collection in the schedule.

Above, all 5 performances of “Osaka 2 times + Tokyo 3 times”. This work was the first night after 30 years. This work recording such a show, the quality is also monumental. We have introduced the masterpiece “HAPPIEST DAYS FOR OSAKA (Amity 116)” from the Osaka performance, but this work is a completely different recording. Amazingly clear and crystal-clear air and on-core. The cheers that boil up are fresh, and if you listen to them with headphones, you will notice the sound of the hall. However, the sound does not create a sense of distance, it gives an exquisite thickness and scale as if the effect was applied to the original sound, and never hides the details. Especially great is the guitar. Andy Fairweather Rowe, Snowy White, and Chester Kamen never mix even when they make sounds, and each one has a distinct line. You can feel the nuances of cutting with a small acoustic guitar, and the electric harmony is glossy while you can hear each one firmly.
There are reasons why we were able to achieve such a clear sound. To tell the truth, this work was made into a monopoly by a series of masterpieces in Osaka from the late 90’s to the early 2000’s. We have delivered many collections of this recorder. Most of them are HR/HM, but not only that, but Jeff Beck’s masterpiece “ZEPP OSAKA 1999 (Wardour-214)”, KANSAS “OSAKA 2001 (Virtuoso 298/299)”, THE Masterpieces of various genres, such as “OSAKA 2001 (Uxbridge 705)” by ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECT and “OSAKA 1999 (Uxbridge 1226)” by Peter Green, have been well received. The guitar sound is common to these masterpieces. This work is an outstanding work in such a master collection of guitar recordings.

70 years PINK FLOYD revisited Roger Waters realized 30 years after coming to Japan. And the feast of the originator’s FLOYD number, which will probably be the last. It is a masterpiece of a live album that completely records the scene of such history with the beautiful sound of brilliance. A FLOYD fan’s three-disc set with a dream of a progressive person. Please enjoy with this permanent preservation work anytime and forever.

オリジネイターによるFLOYDナンバーが響き渡ったロジャー・ウォーターズ2002年の来日公演。恐らく日本最後になるであろう奇跡のツアーを記録したオリジナル録音が２タイトル同時リリース決定です。その２作はどちらも大阪公演のライヴアルバムなのですが、本作はその第一弾。「2002年３月25日：大阪厚生年金会館」公演の極上オーディエンス録音です。
当時のロジャーはPINK FLOYDナンバー大盤振る舞いの“IN THE FLESH”が世界中で大反響となり、唯一無二のソロ来日も実現。本作はそんな千載一遇ツアーの初日を記録したライヴアルバムです。そんな記念碑的来日がいかなるポジションだったのか。まずはワールド・ツアーの全体像から振り返っておきましょう。

以上、「大阪２回＋東京３回」の全５公演。本作は30年ぶりとなる初日の夜だったのです。そんなショウを記録した本作は、クオリティも記念碑級。当店では、大阪公演の傑作『HAPPIEST DAYS FOR OSAKA（Amity 116）』をご紹介したことがありますが、本作はまったくの別録音。驚くべきはクリスタル・クリアに透き通った空気感とオンな芯。沸き立つ喝采は生々しいですし、ヘッドフォンで耳を澄ませばホール鳴りにも気づく。しかし、その鳴りが距離感を生み出すことなく、まるで原音にエフェクトを被せたように絶妙な厚みとスケール感を与えつつ、ディテールを決して隠さない。特に素晴らしいのは、ギター。アンディ・フェアウェザー・ロウ、スノウィ・ホワイト、チェスター・ケイメンの３人が音を重ねても決して混じり合わず、１人ひとりのラインがくっきり。ささやかなアコギはカッティングのニュアンスも感じ取れ、エレキのハーモニーも１本１本がしっかりと聞き分けられつつ艶っ艶なのです。
それだけのクリア・サウンドを実現できたのにもワケがある。実は、本作をモノにしたのは90年代末から2000年代初頭にかけて大阪で名作を連発した連発した人物。当店ではこの録音家のコレクションを数多くお届けしてきました。多くはHR/HM系だったりもするのですが、決してそれだけではなく、ジェフ・ベックの名盤『ZEPP OSAKA 1999（Wardour-214）』やKANSASの『OSAKA 2001（Virtuoso 298/299）』、THE ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECTの『OSAKA 2001（Uxbridge 705）』、ピーター・グリーンの『OSAKA 1999（Uxbridge 1226）』等々、多彩なジャンルの名作が大好評を博してきました。それらの名作に共通しているのがギター・サウンド。本作は、そんなギター録音の名人コレクションでも卓越の一作なのです。
