バック・スクリーンにバタシー発電所が聳え立つところから始まる「Dogs」はその壮大なスペクタクルをカメラ1がパーフェクトに捉えています。曲の途中で女性コーラス2人がタムを叩く様子が2箇所で確認出来るのも要チェックですし、いつの間にか天井から垂れ幕スクリーンが降りてステージ横にも映像が流れてゆく様子など、刻々と変化するステージングがギミックとして理解出来るのも嬉しいところです。この曲の中盤ではロジャー、女性コーラス2人、サイド・ギタリスト達( 恐らくグァスとジョナサン )が狐( コヨーテ? )のお面を着けて食卓を囲むシーンがあり、これなどは音だけでは絶対に分からない情報=本編CDには無いアドヴァンテージと言えるでしょう。そして先週のギフト盤では途中でブツ切れていた「Money」は再びカメラ2(※ 或いはその近くの別のカメラかもしれません)が活躍。ここで興味深いのはステージと観客スペースの間に設けられているピット・スペース(※ 写真や映像撮影の為にカメラマンや関係者が行き来するあの通路・空間です)でプロの映像スタッフがビデオ・シューティングしている姿が確認出来る事です。恐らく公式サイトに出ていた断片映像はこれで録っていたものと思われますが、その公式撮影の様子もハッキリ確認出来るのです。「Us and Them」は定点カメラで写した新しいカメラ5が登場。会場の中央頭上から会場を2分する様に巨大な垂れ幕スクリーンが落ちているのが確認出来、場内では右と左で映像による” 壁 “が出来ていた事が分かるのです。定点カメラだけに大変安定した映像なのも特徴で、会場中央に設置されたコンソール・スペースが視認出来るのも要チェックです。

そしてこれも先週のギフト盤では未収録だった「Smell the Roses」では、更に別のカメラが登場。マイク1本で歌うロジャーをカメラ6(※ ステージ向かって右側の階上席)がバッチリ捉えており、ここにきてまた新しい視点でステージが鑑賞出来るのです。カメラ1に戻った「Eclipse」では曲の途中からカメラが真上に向き、会場頭上のレーザー光線によるライティングの様子を暫く追い続けるシーンが出てくるのですが、これは今回のUS+THEMステージのライティングを立体的に確認・検証出来る資料的価値の高い映像となっています。「Vera」では本編CDでも音で確認出来た様にロジャーが女性コーラス2人を( 恐らく突然 )傍に呼び、彼女達と自分との3声による音楽的なフォーメーションを試す様子が映像確認出来ます。これは次の「Bring the Boys Back Home」も同様で、突然のロジャーのオーダーにもかかわらず完璧に自分達の役割を果たすジェスとホーリーの、シンガー兼パフォーマーとしての能力値の高さが伺える非常に興味深いシーンとなっています。そして「Comfortably Numb」では更に別のカメラ7が登場し、ズームを多用した高品質な映像が新しい視点で曲の流れを追います。ギターソロに入ってからはカメラ1に戻り、デイヴ( ・キルミスター )の雄姿をプロスタッフが撮影している様子が写るのですが、なんとそのプロ機材カメラがあるピット・スペースを向こうからロジャーが歩いてきて最前列のファンと握手し、通り過ぎたステージの端から演奏全体の様子をじっと眺めチェックしている姿も超至近距離で捉えているのです。

ここまで完成度の高いショウとなっていながらも、幾つかのシーンで垣間見えてくる今後の音楽的発展性の予感….。その何もかもが生々しい高精度の実況映像で視覚と耳元に飛び込んでくる喜びは正直言葉になりません。既に5月26日からUS+THEMツアーは始まっていますが、その基点となるステージをこの映像で追う事で気付かされる発見はかなり多い筈です。本編プレス盤2CDを補完する上で最良のボーナス映像となっていますので、是非併せて御愉しみ下さい!!
