本作の前半に当たる最初の32分間は、当日に再結成を行ったTRAPEZEの演奏を収録しています。グレンを筆頭に、WHITESNAKEなどで百戦錬磨のメル・ギャレー、’80年代のJUDAS PRIESTを知る者なら忘れられないデイヴ・ホーランドの3人が、自分達のルーツに立ち返ってソリッドでファンクなハード・ロックを最高のプレイで披露しています。この日取り上げられた4曲はいずれもバンドの代表曲として欠かせないもの。彼らの傑作として知られる3rdアルバム「YOU ARE THE MUSIC…WE’RE JUST THE BAND」より、タイトル曲と「Way Back To The Bone」が、ファンキーな曲想とパワフルなプレイで聴き手を虜にしてしまうでしょう。
ライヴのオープニングを飾った「Way Back To The Bone」の演奏後、グレンの紹介によってレイ・ギランの母親がステージに登場。グレンも感動的なスピーチをもって早すぎたレイの死を悼みます。グレンとレイはBLACK SABBATHにおいて”前任者”と”後任”の関係でもあり、’87年のPHENOMENAプロジェクトでも接点を持つなど、何かと縁がありました。その両者の繋がりを知るファンにとって、ここは大変重要な場面です。その後はグレンがHUGHES/THRALLでもセルフ・カバーした名バラードの「Coast To Coast」、彼が最近のソロライヴにおいても頻繁に演奏する「Your Love Is Alright」など、名曲が連発されます。水を得た魚のように活き活きと圧倒的なヴォーカル・パフォーマンスを披露するグレンの活躍は凄いとしか言いようが無く、PURPLEやSABBATHでの彼しか興味が無かったファンには衝撃でもあるでしょう。このTRAPEZEの演奏は、全てのハードロックファンに聴いて頂きたい絶品のステージです（なお、本作にはプロショット映像が付属していますが、そちらの音声とは比較にならないCD音源のパーフェクトサウンドに、全てのグレン・ファンは驚愕する事でしょう）！

後半はいよいよトリビュート・ライヴの本番です。ここではあのノエル・レディングを含む、多彩なミュージシャンがステージに登場し、ファンを驚かせる場面が連発します。このステージでヴォーカルを務めるのは、先日残念ながら急逝したジェニー・レイン。ジミ・ヘンドリックスのカバーである「Little Wing」や「Stone Free」等で、WARRANT時代とはまた違った味わい深い歌唱をファンの前に披露します。そのジェニーが「リハーサルの時より随分長かったね！」とMCするバンドのジャムセッション・パートでは、バックを務めるメンバーが確かな技術に裏づけられた白熱のプレイを聴かせます（長めに時間が割かれるドラムとベースのソロプレイも聴き応え満点）。
ここで約2分間のサウンド・チェックが行われ、本音源のクライマックス「High Wire」が始まります。「次はBADLANDSの曲だ。凄いものになるよ」というMCの通り、ジェイク・Ｅ・リーの音色を模したポール・ペスコのギター、レイにも負けないジェニーの力強いヴォーカルが、強烈なライヴ・サウンドを轟かせます！　それぞれのプレイヤーが余りにも熱を入れすぎたのか、途中でバンド全体が楽曲構成を見失いそうにもなりますが、スポンテニアスなムードいっぱいで演奏されるBADLANDSの代表曲には、会場のオーディエンスだけでなく聴き手まで最高にヒートアップさせてくれます。
残念ながらテープに収められた音はここまでで、次曲の「Winter’s Call」はイントロのみの収録です。この「Winter’s Call」ではグレンがヴォーカルを執っていたようで、本曲が失われている事は返す返すも残念！　しかし約60分間とは言え、この日限りのスペシャルなギグが最高のダイレクト・サウンドで残された事は本当に奇跡的です。BLACK SABBATH時代の名音源や「LOST IN A SHADOW」を経て最後にたどり着く、レイ・ギラン・ストーリー最終章の本作は、在りし日のレイ・ギランを偲ぶにふさわしい、全てのハードロック・ヘヴィメタルファン必携の一本でしょう！この貴重な音源を是非、本盤のプレスCDにてコレクトして下さい！

なお本作には、同日に行われたのTRAPEZEの再結成ステージを収録した「GLENN HUGHES WITH TRAPEZE – REFORMING AT RAY GILLEN TRIBUTE LIVE」がDVD-Rで付属しています。会場のハウス・カメラで撮影された映像は、多くのTRAPEZE及びグレン・ファンに「まさかこのステージを観られるとは！」と歓喜させた驚きの一本。32分間にわたるクリアなプロショットで再結成TRAPEZEの演奏とパフォーマンスを全編しっかりと確認できます。本映像は前述したようにメインCDとは別のライン録音が用いられています。本編には一歩譲るとしても、こちらも充分以上に優秀なライン・ソースでライヴの模様を楽しめます（比較対照が本編CDのサウンドボード音源でなければ、この映像だけでもかなりの話題となったはずです）。トリビュート・ライヴ本編と併せて、映像と音源でこの日の模様をたっぷりとご堪能ください！
