A shocking master has appeared again from the master collection, which is producing super masterpieces of HR / HM series every day! What a historic excavation of the super-famous recording master cassette master of the Graham Bonnet era !! Two titles of press 2CD upgraded to the ultimate Gene will be released at the same time!
Speaking of RAINBOW’s performance in Japan during the Graham era, a miracle tour comparable to DEEP PURPLE’s first visit to Japan. Since everything is a masterpiece, not only are audience recordings of all performances unearthed, but there is competition for top recordings every day. What was unearthed this time is the original cassette of historical records, which has been regarded as the “best recording” in the first two performances. The traditionally top-notch recording has made the ultimate upgrade. This work is the second of two such newly excavated cassettes. This is a superb audience recording of the performance of “May 9, 1980: Nippon Budokan”.
Speaking of the Graham era, there are only two venues, Tokyo and Osaka, as in the case of Purple’s first visit to Japan. First of all, let’s confirm the position of this work on the schedule this time as well.

● First half: Nippon Budokan (3 performances)
・ May 8 “BUDOKAN 1980 1ST NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER”
・ May 9: Nippon Budokan ← ★ This work ★
-Off for 2 days-
・ May 12 “BUDOKAN 1980 FINAL NIGHT”

● Second half: Osaka Festival Hall (3 performances)
・ May 13 “DEFINITIVE OSAKA 1980” * Disc 1-2
・ May 14 “DEFINITIVE OSAKA 1980” * Disc 3-4
・ May 15 “OSAKA 1980 FINAL NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER”
* Note: Only representative works on each day.

[One of the two great recordings that have sharpened the ho is the ultimate evolution] Above, all 6 performances. As I mentioned in the explanation of “1ST NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER (Black Box 038)” which will be released at the same time, the content of this year’s visit to Japan is different in “first half 2 days + second half 4 days” with rehearsal. This time, the original cassette of the legendary recording that represented the first two days was excavated.
The “2nd day” of this work is a fierce battlefield with many recordings, but there are two major systems competing for the top among them. One is the prestigious “Kinny Recording”. In the olden days, it was loved as “ON TOUR 1980: SINCE YOU BEEN GONE”, and recently the apex update board “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980 2ND NIGHT (Darker Than Blue 197/198)” has been very popular. The other is the classic “WALKURE” system. In our shop, it is a famous recording known as “EYES OF THE BUDOKAN (Black Box 014)”. And this work is the latter. It is the original cassette of “WALKURE series”.
What is even more surprising is that this “WALKURE series” was recorded by the recently talked-about master collection. WHITESNAKE’s “TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT (Zodiac 446)” attracted a lot of attention as “higher sound quality than official”, and recorded the highest sound quality in “1981 West Japan Trilogy”. In 1985, DEEP PURPLE also renewed the highest peak of Osaka 2DAYS, and the purple family alone is discovering the highest ever transcendental boards one after another. And this time, the truth was revealed in the RAINBOW edition. The legendary Japanese recording history “WALKURE” and “BROKEN DREAMS” were the works of this person!
Although the introduction was long, what flowed out of the Omoto cassette was a shocking full show. The advantage is that the intro is more than 2 minutes longer than the legendary board “WALKURE”, and the part of each fade is a few seconds longer, but that is just proof of the original cassette. The true impact is the sound itself that goes through the whole story. The sound captured by the finest “Sony ECM-989” & “Cassette Densuke D5M” at that time was turned on fiercely! Compared to the top board “DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980 2ND NIGHT” such as Kinney, the core that sticks in front of you is powerful and has plenty of direct feeling. Moreover, the spread of the sound and the feeling of separation are extremely vivid. It’s already clear from the first shot of “Eyes Of The World”. The band comes in at once around the 1st minute with a feeling of tension and wrinkles, but the dynamism at that moment is different from the existing group. It used to be small, but this time it feels like you’re under wind pressure on the floor.
Also, the sense of presence is super clear. While Kinney recording was a type that focused on performance, this work is a type that obediently sucks in clapping and screaming around. Of course, it doesn’t get in the way of a thick performance, but its straightforward and realistic sense of presence is linked to the power of the performance and wriggles, and it can’t help but stir up the emotions you’re listening to. Kinney recording would be preferred by those who “exclude as much as possible except for performances” like the sound board directly connected to the table, but if you are a group who “wants to drown in a great performance on the spot”, this work will be the champion. ..

[Ensemble of upswing that pushes back the singing Graham] And that show is also the biggest point. In the sister work “1ST NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER”, I wrote “Graham’s life’s No. 1 singing”, but this work is also a big hustle (dead language). On top of that, the band side, which had been pushed by Graham on the first day, has revived, and the total performance has improved. If this feeling is scored out of 100 points, it will be “first day = Graham 150 points + band 80 points”, and this work will be “second day = Graham 140 points + band 100 points”. By the way, if you continue to score after that, it might be something like “after the 3rd day = Graham 120 points + band 120 points” (It seems that you will be told that “almost 100 points are exceeded”, but that much the 1980 performance in Japan It’s abnormal).
In fact, Graham of this work is also a singing song that does not lose on the first day. I feel that the maximum tension at the moment is higher on the first day, but it is amazing because it does not fall at a high level. In the promised “All Night Long” conversation, let’s show off a tremendous long tone. Normally, he asks, “Can you sing this?”, But Graham on that day completely left the audience behind. He is showing off his throat so much that he instinctively rushes into the speaker 40 years later, saying, “I can’t sing like that (laughs).”
And Ritchie / Cozy / Don / Roger who pushes back Graham who is still high is also amazing. As mentioned above, it seems that the balance can be completely achieved only in the “second half 4 days”, but the feeling as a band has improved dramatically, and even groovy. And even if you concentrate on each instrument, every part has gorgeous and splendid performances. This is the real thrill since the second phase of DEEP PURPLE.
“Another masterpiece recording” that has been competing for the top in a long history without taking a step back to the prestigious Kinney’s historical masterpiece. It is a shocking live album that was digitized directly from the original cassette. “1ST NIGHT” where you can listen to the best singing Graham of your life, and this work that shows the strongest RAINBOW that pushes back that Graham. A sister work that renewed the highest peak of the two unique early performances even when she came to Japan in 1980, a miracle. Please enjoy it anytime, forever with the permanent storage press 2CD.

★ A superb audience recording of the performance of “May 9, 1980: Nippon Budokan” during the Graham Bonnet era. An inscription among the inscriptions that digitized the traditional famous recording known as “WALKURE” from the newly excavated Omoto cassette. The intro is more than 2 minutes longer than the previous one, and the part of each fade is a few seconds longer, but the real impact is the sound itself that goes through the whole story. Anyway, the core that is fiercely turned on and sticks in front of you is powerful and has a lot of direct feeling. Even in the same recording, the existing group was small, but this work has different sound spread, separate feeling, and dynamism. It is a super-masterpiece where you can experience the great enthusiasm of Graham, who is in great shape, and the band, who is in a rising tone, confronting each other.

古くは『ON TOUR 1980: SINCE YOU BEEN GONE』として愛され、最近では頂点更新盤『DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980 2ND NIGHT(Darker Than Blue 197/198)』が大好評を博しております。 当店で言うなら『EYES OF THE BUDOKAN(Black Box 014)』で知られる名録音です。
それはもう「Eyes Of The World」の一発目からして明らか。
