[Reproduce the traditional Kinney recording with the highest quality] Of course, what is engraved in this work is “August 16, 1980 Donington performance”. It is the long audience recording. This show has been handed down on official compilations and TV pro shots, and in 2016, an official live album was realized. However, it is the audience recording of the prestigious Kinney that has been the longest and has conveyed the whole view of the show for many years. A masterpiece recording of a masterpiece that has been known as a big classic since the LP era and has been loved even in the CD era with numerous board raisings. This work is a two-disc set that has been revived with the highest quality in history by brushing up the traditional recording in detail.
Because of the famous audience recording, those who have noticed this article will be familiar with the individuality of the recording. However, this “precision” should have never been experienced. Recently, in our shop, we have reprinted the traditional famous recording by refining the accuracy. WHITESNAKE’s “DEFINITIVE NOTTINGHAM 1984 (Zodiac 456)” and RAINBOW’s “OSAKA 1976 SOUNDBOARD ARCHIVES (Rising Arrow-066)” have been very well received regardless of AUD / SBD. The point is the accuracy of mastering, and there is no meaningless sound pressure gain or forcible noise reduction. Using a source close to the available origin, the original sound is accurately digitized to ultra-fine details. The treatment is performed while making the most of the natural feeling of “sounding”. Not to mention the processing of just pitch and petit noise, the contours and clearness are finely adjusted for each band, and the balance and stereo feeling of each instrument are precisely adjusted. The phase shift is also corrected to 1/1000 second. If you compare this feeling to an official work, is it close to making a CD by MOBILE FIDELITY or NIMBUS SUPER CUT? Of course, the prestigious official field cannot handle underground sound sources, but you can think of it as applying its sound aesthetic to audience tapes and outflow sound boards. This work is the “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1980” version of such a reprint series. Even the roaring sound of an aircraft in “Catch The Rainbow” is a super-realistic and natural pinnacle.

[Legendary live album that runs through the whole view of the show] Moreover, in the case of this work, it is not just the sound. There are no slight omissions in recording on various CDs and original LPs. For example, “Catch The Rainbow”. There is a cut that seems to be a tape change at the end, but the cut ends have been disjointed so far. In this work, it goes back to the longest original LP, and the performance part is recorded about 20 seconds longer than before. Of course, this does not mean “reprint of the original LP round copy”. For example, the keyboard intro of “Lost In Hollywood” is also a complete recording of the medley (according to modern standards) without breaking up with a Disc change. You can seamlessly enjoy “Lost In Hollywood Suite” for about 30 minutes.
Although it is a natural process in the modern sense, when it comes to “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1980”, the feelings are quite different. After all, “Lost In Hollywood Suite” is about 30 minutes with each person’s solo and 9th, but the highlight is Cozy’s drum solo! It has been confirmed that this day will be the final performance of Cozy, and at the end of the enthusiastic drum solo, Graham will call “Cozy Powell!” Three times in a row, and “Lost In Hollywood” will be replied super dramatically. Since it is a medley that is exciting aiming for this historic highlight, if the intro is crying or shortened, it will be awakening (★★ Even in the same part, the official version is about 25 minutes, this work is about 29 minutes It is recorded in).
Even bigger is other than medley. The lengthening of the sound board by the official version released in 2016 was also epoch-making, but there are still some songs that have been cut. This is also a long time ago, but let’s organize the contents.

Many of these famous scenes are still the only ones recorded by Kinney. This work is a press 2CD that allows you to enjoy the whole story forever with the highest quality ever.
If the biggest highlight of DEEP PURPLE was California Jam, RAINBOW was definitely “1st MONSTERS OF ROCK”. This work is a live album where you can experience the scene with the highest quality. The supreme one that refined the legendary recording of the prestigious Kinney by every method. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

そんな本作に刻まれているのは、もちろん「1980年８月16日ドニントン公演」。その長尺オーディエンス録音です。このショウは公式コンピ盤やTVプロショット等で語り継がれ、2016年には公式ライヴアルバムも実現しました。しかし、最も長尺で長年に渡ってショウの全景を伝えてきたのは、名門キニーのオーディエンス録音。LP時代から大定番として知られ、数々の盤起こしでCD時代も愛され続けた名作中の名作録音。本作は、その伝統録音を微に入り細に入ってブラッシュアップし、史上最高峰クオリティで甦らせた２枚組なのです。

【ショウの全景を突っ走る伝説のライヴアルバム】
しかも、本作の場合はサウンドだけではない。各種CDやオリジナルLPにもあたって極々わずかな収録漏れもない。例えば、「Catch The Rainbow」。終盤でテープチェンジと思しきカットがあるわけですが、そのカット端はこれまでバラバラでした。本作では最も長かったオリジナルLPにまで遡り、これまでより20秒ほど長く演奏部を収録しています。もちろん、これは「オリジナルLPの丸コピ復刻」という意味ではありません。例えば、「Lost In Hollywood」のキーボード・イントロも（現代基準通りに）Discチェンジで泣き別れにはせず、メドレーをきっちり完全収録。約30分に及ぶ「Lost In Hollywood組曲」をシームレスに楽しめます。
もっとも現代感覚では当たり前の処理でもあるのですが、これが“MONSTERS OF ROCK 1980”となると感慨がかなり違ってくる。何しろ、「Lost In Hollywood組曲」は各人のソロや第九も交えて約30分も繰り広げるわけですが、そのハイライトはコージーのドラムソロ！　この日はコージーの最終公演になることが確定しており、気合いの入ったドラムソロの最後にグラハムが「コージー・パウエル！」の三連呼し、超ドラマティックに「Lost In Hollywood」がリプライズする。この歴史的なハイライトを目指して盛り上がっていくメドレーなのですから、イントロが泣き別れになっていたり、短縮されていたら興醒めなのです（★★同じパートでも公式盤は約25分、本作は約29分で収録されています）。
さらに大きいのは、メドレー以外。2016年リリースの公式盤によるサウンドボードの長尺化も画期的ではありましたが、それでもまだカットされた曲がある。これまた今さらではありますが、その内容も整理しておきましょう。
