Popularity, content, and quality … Everything is complete, and the RAINBOW title of our restaurant is a legendary reprint. Appears in Permanent Preservation Press 6CD. Engraved in this work is “May 13 + 14 + 15: 1980: Osaka Festival Hall Performance”. Yes, this is the 6th edition “THE HIDDEN FORTRESS DEFINITIVE EDITION” with the best master set of the only performances that came to Japan during the Graham Bonnet era.
This title was a truly masterpiece. First of all, the show was the ultimate. Among the rainbow-colored history of many heroes, the Graham era is the most popular number one. What’s more, Graham Bonnet, who has a strong / bad wave of performances in Japan, listens to his throat, and everyone in the lineup called “The Strongest” shows off his taste. It was ideal to have all the requirements of Japan’s audience as “the world’s best RAINBOW country”. It was just a masterpiece that was sung by mania, saying, “If you made an official live album in Japan, it was RAINBOW’s“ MADE IN JAPAN ””.
This work is a complete recording of 3 days in Osaka that was a miracle in such a Japanese performance with Best Master / Best Quality. Anyway, the 1980 performance in Japan is a treasure trove of masterpieces and masterpieces. First of all, let’s organize the collection according to the schedule at that time.

As you can see, the 1980 performance in Japan is for three days in Tokyo and Osaka. It was the same venue as the legendary DEEP PURPLE first visit to Japan. The true value of “the strongest RAINBOW” was fully demonstrated, but the 4th day of the Budokan last day “May 12” to Osaka last day “May 14” was especially “Will You Still. “Love Me Tomorrow” is also played, and it is the best from the band to the tone of PA. It was exactly “four days of miracle”, along with “three days of miracle (August 15, 16, 17 1972)” that produced “MADE IN JAPAN”.
This work is a digital version of the original master cassette recording of the best taper with the same taper for 3 days in Osaka. Moreover, this recording is also suitable for a miraculous live, and it is a tremendous sound that has not exceeded even 35 years after the live. In the old days, the final day “May 15” was released as the Langley label “HEAVY ROCK SPECTACULAR”, but it was a super title that determined the fame of the label along with “RISING ROUGH MIX”. “THE HIDDEN FORTRESS” appeared as the “three-day complete version” of the taper (only the encore on the second day was supplemented with other sound sources), and the remastered version was “THE HIDDEN FORTRESS DEFINITIVE EDITION”. The “THE HIDDEN FORTRESS” series are so popular that they are all released and sold out. Although it was difficult to obtain for a long time, this time we will reprint it with a renewal title / jacket with a series feeling in both Tokyo editions.

I don’t know how many times I listened, but take a breath every three days. Richie Blackmore, Cozy Powell, Graham Bonnet, Don Ayley, Roger Glover … Just by arranging the names, five dizzying talents brilliantly engage to create a rainbow-colored world. The ensemble, which became much more contemporary than the medieval Ronnie James Dio era, embodies the “HR Royal Road” since the second DEEP PURPLE. Moreover, the composition of the show that wraps it up is wonderful. Although there is no particular break, it is clearly a three-part structure that unconsciously instills the image of the show vividly.
First of all, the first part is from “Weifeng Dojin” to “Catch The Rainbow”. This is the first piece of each performance. From the start of the dramatic “Eyes Of The World”, which is now a narrative, “DOWN TO EARTH” 3 fires + “Man On The Silver Mountain” and “Catch The Rainbow” are folded at once. It is not just a series of representative songs and popular songs, but also a classic taste, blues, pop, rock, ballad, and other elements of RAINBOW.
And the second part across the disc change is “Lost In Hollywood” medley, which is derived from Don ’s keyboard solo. A huge suite of over 30 minutes with plenty of guitar / keyboard / drum solo times. While the sensibilities of some of the best players in the UK rock out, the improvisations that are rich in entertainment spirits are called out. This sense of fulfillment is only comparable to the second DEEP PURPLE.
And the third part is an encore that starts with Ritchie’s guitar solo. This HR paradise is thrilling and thrilling with “All Night Long”, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll” featuring guitar crashes.
What kind of composition power. In this era, five super players are attracting attention, and the actual performance is overwhelming. What’s more, the composition of the show that envelops that performance boasts a tremendous degree of perfection, creating a total and spectacular drama. Even in the history of RAINBOW, which has changed to seven colors, dynamism that makes full use of the entire show is unparalleled. That’s why I want to listen more times, not just once. I want to repeat the same CD, but another show with a different color of the in-pro is attacking with a super sound with the same taper.

It is a big monument in the UK HR live album that has been able to hold the masterpiece performance at the top for 5 hours and 8 minutes. 人気・内容・クオリティ……すべてが揃い、当店のRAINBOWタイトルでも伝説となっている超名盤が復刻。永久保存プレス６CDで登場です。そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1980年５月13日＋14日＋15日：大阪フェスティバルホール公演」。そう、グラハム・ボネット時代に実現した唯一の来日公演を極上マスターでセットした決定盤６枚組『THE HIDDEN FORTRESS DEFINITIVE EDITION』です。
このタイトルは、まさに頂点的な名作でした。何よりもまずショウが究極的だった。数々の英雄が彩った虹色の歴史の中でも、グラハム時代は人気ナンバー１。しかも、日本公演は出来／不出来の波が激しいグラハム・ボネットが絶好調の喉を聴かせ、「最強」と呼ばれるラインナップの全員が持ち味を遺憾なく発揮。それを受け止めるのは“世界一のRAINBOW国”たる日本のオーディエンスという、総ての条件が理想的にそろっていた。マニアから「もし日本で公式ライヴアルバムを作っていたらRAINBOWの『MADE IN JAPAN』になっていた」とまで囁かれる名演中の名演ばかりでした。
本作は、そんな日本公演でも奇跡連発だった大阪３日間をベスト・マスター／ベスト・クオリティで完全収録したもの。とにかく1980年の来日公演は名演・名作の宝庫。まずは当時のスケジュールで、そのコレクションを整理しておきましょう。

このように、1980年の来日公演は東京・大阪３日間ずつ。それも伝説のDEEP PURPLE初来日と同じ会場でした。その総てが“最強のRAINBOW”の真価が遺憾なく発揮されていたわけですが、特に武道館最終日「５月12日」から大阪最終日「５月14日」の４連日は、「Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow」も演奏され、バンドどころかPAの調子に至るまで最高。まさに『MADE IN JAPAN』を生んだ“奇跡の３日間（1972年８月15日・16日・17日）”と並ぶ、“奇跡の４日間”だったのです。
本作は、このうち大阪３日間を同一テーパーによる最高傑作録音を、オリジナル・カセットからデジタル化したもの。しかも、この録音がまた奇跡的なライヴに相応しく、ライヴから35年を経た現在でも超えるものがない凄まじいサウンド。古くは、最終日「５月15日」がLangleyレーベル『HEAVY ROCK SPECTACULAR』としてリリースされたのですが、『RISING ROUGH MIX』と並んでレーベルの名声を決定づけるほどのスーパータイトルだった。そのテーパーの“３日間完全版”として登場したのが『THE HIDDEN FORTRESS』であり（２日目アンコールのみ他音源で補填）、そのリマスターバージョンが『THE HIDDEN FORTRESS DEFINITIVE EDITION』というわけです。『THE HIDDEN FORTRESS』シリーズは、どれも発売するや瞬殺完売するほど超人気。長らく入手困難でしたが、今回は東京編ともシリーズ感のあるリニューアル・タイトル／ジャケットで復刻する運びとなりました。

何百回聴いたか分かりませんが、この３日間はそのたびに息を飲む。リッチー・ブラックモア、コージー・パウエル、グラハム・ボネット、ドン・エイリー、ロジャー・グローヴァー……名前を並べただけで、めまいがする５人のタレントが見事にかみ合い、虹色の世界を組み上げる。中世色だったロニー・ジェイムズ・ディオ時代よりもグッとコンテンポラリーになったアンサンブルは、第２期DEEP PURPLE以来となる“HRの王道”の体現。しかも、それを包み込むショウの構成までもが素晴らしい。特に休憩を挟むわけではありませんが、明らかに三部構成になっており、無意識のうちにショウのイメージを鮮烈に植え付けるのです。
まず第１部は「威風堂々」での開演から「Catch The Rainbow」まで。各公演の１枚目にあたります。今や語り草にもなっているドラマティックな「Eyes Of The World」のスタートから『DOWN TO EARTH』３連発＋「Man On The Silver Mountain」「Catch The Rainbow」と一気にたたみ掛ける。単に代表曲・人気曲の連発なだけでなく、クラシカル・テイストからブルース、ポップ、ロック、バラードと、RAINBOWの構成要素を“これぞ！”な曲に託して見せつけるのです。
そして、ディスク・チェンジを挟んだ第２部はドンのキーボード・ソロから導かれる「Lost In Hollywood」超大作メドレー。ギター／キーボード／ドラムの各ソロタイムをたっぷりと盛り込んだ、30分を超える巨大な組曲です。英国ロック屈指の名プレイヤーたちの感性が弾け飛びながら、それぞれにエンターテインメント精神にも富んだインプロヴィゼーションが「これでもか！」と繰り出される。この充実感は、それこそ第２期DEEP PURPLEくらいしか比肩するものがありません。
そして、第３部はリッチーのギターソロから始まるアンコール。「All Night Long」や「Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow」、ギタークラッシュをフィーチュアした「Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll」で徹底的に、ド迫力に、楽しみ抜くHRパラダイスです。
なんという構成力。この時代は５人のスーパープレイヤーが注目されますし、実際のそのパフォーマンスは圧倒的。しかも、その演奏を包み込むショウの構成までもが凄まじい完成度を誇り、トータルで壮大なドラマを描き出しているのです。７色に変わっていったRAINBOWの歴史でもショウ全体を丸ごと駆使したダイナミズムは比類ない。だからこそ１回だけでなく、何度でも“もっと聴きたい”と思ってしまう。これこそが、「RAINBOWの『MADE IN JAPAN』になっていた」と言われるほどの充実感がある所以。そして、本作は“もっと！”を大阪３日分で満足させてくれる。同じCDでも繰り返したいのに、インプロの色合いも異なる別のショウが同一テーパーのスーパーサウンドで波状攻撃してくるのです。

名演に次ぐ名演となる奇跡の大阪３日間。その最後に登場するのは、２秒ほど「Smoke On The Water」リフを遊びで弾く最終日アンコールの「All Night Long」。そのちょっとしたリフで盛大に沸き上がる大歓声のエクスタシーと言ったらない。そこに至るまでの４時間40分もの間、徹底的に調子に乗りまくってきたリッチーの上機嫌ぶりが改めて浮き立ち、３日間の名シーン・名プレイがフラッシュバックする走馬燈のハイライトで本作は幕を閉じます。
中世色に新たな彩りが加わり、より鮮やかに輝いたRAINBOW。その頂点たる大名演を５時間８分に渡って収めきった、英国HRライヴアルバムの一大金字塔です。ロニー時代をこよなく愛する自分が「これこそ史上最高！」と断言するのを躊躇わせるのですが、だからと言ってこれ以上のライヴアルバムも思いつかない。RAINBOW史、リッチー史、ハードロック史、いずれの視点からも希に見る超傑作プレス６枚組。どうぞ、思う存分心ゆくまでお楽しみください！
